See tire positioning for Yoko's at http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/attach...0-hyd-expo.jpg

Here are some real world feedback ratings for the S and C drives

S.Drive http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Yokohama/S-Drive.htm

C.Drive http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Yokohama/C-Drive.htm (Better F/B compared to the S in EVERY area)

re: Maruti Suzuki Swift : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Bought Michelin XM2 185/70/R14 for my 2010 Model Swift VXi ABS. The grip is outstanding and the tyre noise is almost zero. The dealer told me Michelins are out of stock in south delhi as the demand has increased for them post diwali (dont know whats the link there).
Also, he mentioned selling 5 sets of Michelins in the past 2 days which seemed to be a big deal for him
Initial Price: 5150 a piece
Post Bargaining: 5000 a piece
Buyback of 52k run old tyres: 150 a piece

Going for a long drive on the highway today. The steering has already started to feel lighter and hoping for a smooth ride today

Any idea on the ongoing rates for 185/70R14 Michelin XM2 in Cochin? The shop near to my brother's place (Trivandrum) seems to be having only Michelin and he is quoting 4850 per tyre.

Thanks

Neothrash (2 posts up) got them for 4850 post bargaining and buy back in Delhi. This seems to be fine. You can try bargaining a bit But I really doubt he will come down by much, Let us know once you upgrade.

re: Maruti Suzuki Swift : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Changed my Swift's tyres to 185-70-14 Michelin XM2 manufactured 39-12. The major change that I have noticed is the reduction of tyre noise as compared to my earlier MRF's. The car is very silent now and the ride is also more comfortable. Was thinking of the MRF ZLOs as well but finally settled for this. I somehow did not like the asymmetrical tread patterns of the ZLO's.

I got the XM2's for Rs 4700 each (with buy back of old tyres at Rs 100 per piece) with free alignment, balancing, weights and two nozzles thrown in. So, all in all a good deal, I suppose.

4700 looks very sweet, especially with free alignment and balancing. I've seen some dealers quoting lower prices for tyres to attract the customers and then compensating it with higher prices for alignment, balancing and nitrogen which could be complimentary in other cases making the total outflow from our side same or even slightly higher.

Got new XM2's (185-65-14) for 4700 a piece. Minus 100 a piece for stock JK Tyres (64000 kms !!!) and 800 for 4 new Bridgestone nozzles.
Net came to 19000 with free alignment, balancing and fitment.
In Gurgaon (will provide details of shop if anyone interested)

As per my understanding, 185/65R14 is not a correct upsize.

185/65R15 or 185/70R14 or 195/65R14 are valid profiles for swift.

Do check with the experts if this is a correct tyre size for Swift and the probable long term issues if it is not.

Here is a link to check the valid sizes by comparing with the stock size: http://www.tyrestore.in/upsizing.htm

Precisely my thought. The sizes mentioned above are the most common upgrades on the Swift. Never knew that a 185-65-14 is also available in XM2.
