Help with right tyre upgrade.

Fellow BHPians

My Elantra CRDi (funny how I am already calling it mine even before its delivered!! ... just waiting for the budget to see what it does to the prices..)

My Elantra comes shod with 195/60/R14s

Please suggest a good upgrade/upsize. My wish list?

More grippy, but not at the expense of ride and FE... and yes.. My Michelin MXF Sports on my Accent roars like a Banshee on steriods.. so will help if they ride quieter too.

To my knowledge the Elantra comes with 15" 195/60-15....
U can just upgrade to a good set of rubber...without upsizing..

MY MISTAKE!!... Yes they do come with R15s

Why are you not recommending an upsize?

And what would be a good tyre to buy - I do a lot of highway driving (with family) - hence grip and handling is important

Considering u dont want to mess around with FE n ride quality the stock size would work fine....
Else the best upsize would be 205/60-15...

The Potenza GIIIs have proven to be the best on this forum....

215/55 16.....Falken Azenis ST115 very quiet but less life around 30k. Yokohama AVS sport or ES100.

Stick to 55's profile. For our Indian roads they are the safest.
