Update on Momo and Michelin performance

Hi Guys,

I have just completed 1000 kms on the Momo and Michelin combination that I had put on my Fiesta 1.6.

The mileage that the car has returned is 11.90 kmpl taking into consideration the 2.13% speedo error due to change in tyre size from 175/65/14 to 195/55/15. Before the new tyres the car was averaging 11.60 kmpl i.e., just about the same. Therefore there has been no gain / loss on this account.

On the side of performance / handling, I definitely think the handling has improved significantly. Though for the first 200 odd kms there was this annoying rolling sound that has since subsided.

Whether psychologically or otherwise, the acceleration seems much better. This could be due to the fact that the earlier Michelin XM1s had nearly shread and as such were loosing grip.

Overall I am quite satisfied with the new tyre wheel combination.

Regards

Jaskirat

Yes 205/50 is the correct upsize for the swift.

great ride predator!
The rims really gel with car and give the otherwise calm looking car a mean look!

cheers

Thanks bro. The ride quality is quite nice. It a little harsh as compared to 165/80/14 that i was running before. The stearing doesn't feel heavy. Low tire noise and excellent grip. Still haven't tested it out at high speeds. More pics coming soon.

Lenso Rims - Rs. 24,500 for a set of 4.
Accelere 205/55/R16 - Rs. 3320 each.
Chrome Nuts - Rs. 800 for a set of 4.

While going for a tire upsize the percentage difference can be maximum 2%. WIth 205/55/16 the difference is exactly 2% while with 205/55/16 -1.3%. So both are compatible with the swift. I went with this since accelere doesnt have 205/5016 and yoko are freaking expensive.

Yes, the same design is available in 15 inch as well. Not sure about the exact price of 15 inch ones, but they would cost some where between 18 to 20k.

More pics coming soon !!!
