Nice design and is going well with the color of the car.

On Getz, these alloys will look something like this. Tried a bit of copy-paste with the images, I am not an expert in this.

Thanks. Dont remember the model number but these are from Plati. Tyres are yokohama S-Drives 195/55 R15.

S-Drives are turning out to be a disaster. It's been a month since I got the S-Drives and 2 tyres blasted already. Hit a pothole 5cms deep and the tyre is gone! MY first set was a my-01. They worked like a charm. I'm not getting yokos never again. I'm switching to MY-02 very soon.

Can you share the manufacturing date of your Yokohama S-Drives. Asking because I've had two sets of Yokohama A-Drives on my Ritz. The first one lasted 74K kms and the 2nd one did 55K Km post which we sold the car.

The design is fairly common, a printout/ photo would be enough to source these.

re: The official alloy wheel show-off thread. Lets see your rims!

Hi,

When getting new alloys for a just delivered new car, what is the best thing to do, get the new wheels from the dealer itself, or try aftermarket.

What happens to the steel wheels are they bought back or a discount given for them, or they become just scrap?

Please advise.
Shailesh

If you buy alloys from your dealer, your warranty remains intact. After-market alloys may lead to loss of suspension warranty.

The dealer will not give anything for your steel wheels, the after-market alloy/tire dealer will offer 300-400 per wheel.

I don't think anyone is willing to take back steel wheels. It could be because I have tried for a Swift, which has probably the maximum number of steel wheels getting into scrap route and hence there is no way the dealer can sell it off. I'm not sure if people are willing to buy back for some other models.

As maglev pointed out, you'll lose out on suspension warranty if you put after-market alloys.

In most cases, no one wants the steel wheels and you'll most likely end up having to take it home. Even in case of after-market shops, they are rarely willing to offer anything for the steel wheel. I still have 4 steel wheels sitting at home as a 'stand' in a corner of the room.

BTW, which make is the car?

Do manufacturers even offer warranty on suspension? AFAIK it is considered as a wear and tear part.
