Re: The official alloy wheel show-off thread. Lets see your rims!

Hey guys, I recently upgraded my Swift with new tires and wheels. The stock Apollos got worn out at 32000kms.

Tires - Yokohoma Earth 1
Size - 185/65/15
Wheels - GTR

I decided to stick with Yokohama rather than the Michellins simply because of the cost and for my requirement, the Yokos seemed to be reasonable. Also, I decided to stick with the stock ZXi sizes since I like to keep things as stock as possible and gives me peace of mind.

Re: The official alloy wheel show-off thread. Lets see your rims!

Hello Friends, didn't find appropriate thread/forum, hence posting my query over here (Mods, please direct this query to the suitable thread if not found relevant here).

I have the Mahindra TUV3OO-T8 (top end), which unfortunately comes with 4 alloy wheels only, the fifth one (spare wheel) has a steel rim. I always believe in tyre rotation of all the 5 wheels, but I cannot bring the steel wheel in rotation as it will look the "odd man out" .

I want the spare wheel to be alloy as well and prefer the OEM alloy design. When inquired at my service centre they quoted me INR 9.5K, now that is an exorbitant price for what is essentially a 15 inch rim. I want to know from experts over here, from where I can get the OEM alloy wheel (in Pune or elsewhere). For those who don't know how the TUV OEM alloy looks, here are few pictures.

9.5K? Did I hear that right?

I think its not worth all the hassles and money to try and find the stock alloys. Instead, you can trade in your older alloys and get 5 set wheels and you will be able to get something way better looking than your stock ones. It will completely transform the look of your TUV.

You heard it right, mate. Price quoted for stock alloys was indeed 9.5K a piece

Thank you for your suggestion, but I prefer the OEM alloy design. Though not very eye-catching, it has a very robust design (going with the character of the car) and it is also very easy to clean. I am paranoid about keeping my alloys clean (except monsoons)

Does anybody know more about this brand? TUFF All Terrain Wheels.

I was thinking of buying a set for my Duster.

I've definitely come across this brand. If I'm right, they are based out of US and they sell well there and mostly used in SUVs owing to their designs. If you can source the genuine set of these, you can surely go in for this. Don't know where they are manufactured though.

I guess you could just exchange the tyres between steel & alloy wheel during 5-wheel rotation.

Thank you for that suggestion smartcat. Yes I have kept this as a last option in case I am not able to source OEM alloy at reasonable price. Only issue is I will have to unmount the tyres from 2 rims and get the balancing done again.

Lovely Combo! Complements the color of the car very well.

If de-badged, a non-car guy wouldn't consider it as something from Maruti stable.

Yeah... Posted them here to see if anyone knows a dealer in India. I've seen them on a couple of XUV5OO and it looks smashing!

I don't think it is worth the trouble of importing it from the US.

Re: The official alloy wheel show-off thread. Lets see your rims!

Hello everyone
I have been planning to get a new set of wheels for my verna 4s but because of limited designes in 16 inch and non availability in Kanpur i decided to get them painted in gloss black.
This saved me a lot of money, also gave the car a new look.Above all nobody (not even my dad) noticed that these were the same old stock wheels.
The gloss finish makes them shine like a star while the car is moving.
Also got the blood red brake calipers done.
Attaching some rough pictures here .. will add more soon.
