re: The official alloy wheel show-off thread. Lets see your rims!

Please,why did you get these.
come to chandigarh, punjab, every second car has these alloys.
they are a thing of past now,you could have got way better alloys.
This is just my opinion,no offence.

ridinthru': No offense dude, but I would prefer a black steel rim and wheel cover combo over these any given days.

What tyres have you opted for?

Corrected

I like the black steel rims any given day over a wheel cap.

Here we go again.

A visit to an old friend's place (we met after a few years) actually got me to do this change (have changed the whole wheel setup
just yesterday).

My friend also has a Swift and the wheel setup he had really got me thinking. Such an awesome looking, yet so close to stock specs!

After all the hard work I did to source the SC04 and the money I spent on it seemed not so worthy after all. (The increase in the weight of my new 17" setup, the hard and heavy ride gave me worries.)

So, with a heavy heart but looking forward to this complete new setup, something that's well balanced compared to stock in terms of size & weight ratio, I made this change (or you can say downsize. Am still clinging to those SC04s).

I opted for a new set of alloys, and the tyres are kind of the highlight here, they are something different (muscle tyres) from the regular 15" or 14" tyre upgrades we do.

I have not taken the pictures of the whole setup yet. Will post them soon.

re: The official alloy wheel show-off thread. Lets see your rims!

@dolphin
man whats up with you?
you are changing alloys more frequently than a politicians statements

though the latest upgrade may be more practical but i still loved the SC04 combo better.

seeing your appetite for alloys i have two suggestions for you-
(a) get a couple of more swifts with exact specifications and put all the variety of alloys you like, so you can just use the other car with the a different alloys combo instead of having to change the set up every other day.
(b) also you can hire a F1 pit crew, so that changing the set up can be done in a flash.

anyways man, awesome choice of alloys all along.

Another change?

Alloys look good and go very well with the car.
One question, if you were sticking to 60 profile, why not go for 195/60-R15?

Thanks, Sumit and Superboy44.

I wanted to stick to 14" after seeing my friend's similar alloy/tyre combination. I was kind of taken aback by the good looks of this combination of 14" alloys with 215/60-R14 tyres. And then, it's all about the tyres. I just fell in love with them for their muscle bulging, unique look.
I don't remember seeing these tyres on any Swift. I was never aware that such tyres were even available. I also got to know that Lenso had
some cool new designs in 14".

With this 14" setup it's about how close you are to the stock setup in terms of rim width and weight of each wheel. With this setup I can keep the weight close to stock, yet achieve good looks, and not to forget the ride comfort (the sidewall height of 215/60 is greater than 195/60, right?) .

@smrtdvl
IMHO this is the most beautiful set of alloys ever to feature anywhere in 14" size.

Dolphin, those are the exact wheels I've been looking for. 14" Project D 08 Raiden. However not in the white but the bronze shade.

Where did you get these form in Bangalore?

Vid,

I got them from Shiv Shakti Tyres, J.C.Road. This is on the left side just after Minerva circle, next to Car Shringar (right opp. to multi level car parking). You can also get these at Car Shringar (they are all brothers actually), Mission Road.
Even if they don't have the bronze color ready, I think they should be able to arrange it for you. Let me know if you need numbers.

FYI: I also saw Lenso Samurai SC05 in 14" in broze color. Awesome design, now in 14".
