My apologies .. in fact had posted more details about the alloys in the below thread 2 years back

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...dis-vdi-3.html

Just thought of uploading a new pic with the new tyres that were replaced last week.

The Alloys were purchased from the Michelin Tyre plus outlet in Navi Mumbai

2010 Toyota Fortuner - Modded

It was time to change tires on the car and I figured it was time she got a make-over.

I have a Pearl White 2010 Anniversary Edition and after trying out a few wheels in black and silver, I settled for Monoblock Nismo reps in Matt Bronze. Jashanth from Shivshakthi Tires, Bangalore hooked me up with this set. I checked the weight of these wheels and they are lighter than the OEM ones. Tires are Hankook Dynapro's. Ran 15K on them so far, no complaints whatsoever.

Got a Spider Tuning Box installed and she runs like a charm. I used to get 10.0L/100km on the highway with a heavy foot. Now I get about 8.0L/100km for the same style of driving. This method may not be as accurate as full tank auto stop technique but it gives me a rough idea that I'm saving some fuel while having some fun with the car.

Cheers

Re: 2010 Toyota Fortuner - Modded

The car looks very interesting, but just a suggestion. Since you opted for street specific rims with a matte finish, you might change the chrome elements, notably the ORVM cover and the hood scoop to similar matte finished elements, preferably in silver or grey.

Did you not consider suspension upgrade?
How is handling in corners at speeds?

Yup, please get rid of chrome. Your Car would be just perfect then.

Good choice with ally wheels, they appear super. Nice taste

Beautiful wheels. The gold colour looks really cool! Tech query: Swift standard wheels have only 4 holes for the nuts, you've attached 17" 8 holes nut wheels. Upsized the wheels and also didn't put in all the wheel nuts, is it safe?

Actually its mutli PCD alloy and only 4 holes out of 8 can be used. It has 100 pcd and other i dont know which pcd it is. It is safe many people are using multi pcd alloys without any issues.

Hey Sledge,
Did you consider any other options such as dieseltronics, petes etc, if yes then any observations because I am thinking of buying one for my Innova as well as for my friends Thar.Your inputs will be valuable.
Thank you

re: The official alloy wheel show-off thread. Lets see your rims!

Dear Team, I am hereby posting the condition of my car's wheel covers done up with black carbon fibre vinyl after the heavy rains yesterday and after the clean up in the morning. The vinyl is nowhere damaged by water and this shows it is a viable option for those owners who dont want to do away with the OEM rims and yet get a alloy wheel look.

thanks
