While i agree that people have a good taste for wheels in Shillong, there's also a sizable chunk of people going way overboard.

There's something known as 'negative' rims that are in trend, these are really wide and any wide aftermarket tyre also bulges on these rims. I call them the road roller rides

Anyway here's my addition to the collection.

Wheels are 44k for 16 inch and 48k for 17 inch. Tyres would be just under 8k each.

I need suggestion for an after market alloys and tyres for my 10 month old rapid Montecarlo. My stock rim size is 16” and tyre size is 195/55 R16. How good is BBS wheels? My car detailer who also does alloywheel sales said not to change the stock since there are only a limited option in 16inch and are expensive too. Upgrading the size voids the warranty too. I’m confused now. I liked the BBS SR Himalaya grey. Please suggest a right tyre upgrade in 16 inch itself.

I know the reply is a little late but if you have still not gone for the switch then do consider TSW. Good quality but economical as compared to brands like Vossen and definitely a better brand than MOMO for a premium car like the F-Pace. Most designs are available in 20x8.5J 5/108, they have some good ones in 19's as well.

You can get in touch with Lalit from 4S Auto, he hooked me up with a set for my Octavia which I have been using for almost 4years without any issue.

Went it for 20 inchers BBS SV titanium. Will post pics soon
Did consider TSW but got a similar price on the BBS and preferred the design too.

Lalit at 4S is way too lax and flakey for me to work with. I have reached out to him on several occasions including this time and decided to take my business elsewhere due to his lack of professionalism and revert. BBS+ Michelin PS4 tyres+full car PPF is what he lost out on this car alone, business worth approx 5 lakhs or more. If I take in to account the previous business i have gone elsewhere after contacting him would be more than double of this. In future i am not even going to bother wasting my time with him.

Yes i did have to get behind him myself to get the job done but he offered a good price so went with him. Can you please share details of your contact who sourced BBS for you in Bombay?

Please also suggest wheel size. My car comes with 15 inch alloys, and I'm looking for either 16 inch or 17 inch.

Colour should be glossy black preferably.

My budget with tires is ₹50k, which can be stretched incase the wheels are absolutely drool-worthy.

Rims are a personal choice. Search for the model you want among brands first. Neo and Plati brand are easily available and vfm. You may look at Momo too in 16 inch ones if ok with increasing budget. Don't go on 17 inch as those rims and tires will exceed your budget and also make car uncomfortable over bad roads and bumps.

I'm getting quote of ₹39500 for 4 Momo Revenge Black alloys, they look good.

And ₹35200 for 4 Michelin Primacy 4S tyres of 195/55/R16.



With this the total becomes ₹74700 but I'm confident of the brands of tyres and wheels respectively, would this be a good choice? Please suggest.

Prices are okay considering momo does retail quite high. If you are okay with design and budget then go for it. Look at HRS brand as well, its a taiwan brand and they make good quality rims as well and comparable to momo. And when buying tires ensure manufacturing date is not more than 3 months old, its mentioned on each tire sidewall as a 4 digit number.
