re: Hyundai i10 : Tyre & wheel upgrade Thread

Guys i too own i10 magna kappa but never upgraded the tyres post buying the car. Was running the stock 155/80 13 setup from bridgestone.
Been 41K on the car now and definately need the upgrade.
On enquiring with the tyre shops found out that there is this new Michelin XM2 with the same config 155/80 13" and said to be ideal for I10.
Getting the same at the rate of 3650 per tyre is that a good deal?

re: Hyundai i10 : Tyre & wheel upgrade Thread

I also want to do a tyre upgrade. My main requirement is stability at higher speeds. I've narrowed down to Michelin XM1+ and XM2. Both are 175/70R13. Please let me know if I am making the right choice.

I am keeping the stock rims itself. is 175 a good choice, or should i stick to 155 ? I don't want to compromise FE and ride quality.

Please reply at the earliest as I plan to upgrade it today itself. (Have a trip to Shimoga on Saturday).

175/70/13 is a good choice for the i10. Go ahead.

Ok thanks. Is it ok to install these tyres on the stock rims? And what will be the change in FE and ride quality?

re: Hyundai i10 : Tyre & wheel upgrade Thread

I've changed to 175/70 R13 Michelin XM2 tyres. Thanks Sankar for the suggestion. I love these new shoes. They make car feel much more stable at speeds above 70 and during cornering too. I dont see any change in FE, and the steering is the same as how it was earlier. I dont see any tightening. Very good tyres. Loved them even before they were installed on the rims.

I changed my wiper blades too. Hella.

bharat4ever: super upgrade - they have a nice no-nonsense look on stock wheels.

I wonder why i10 doesn't give this size as stock for at least Sportz/Asta!

Any improvement in the ride quality? No warranty issues for the suspension from the A.S.S.?

The ride is better. On stock tires any hung beyond 100 was a nightmare. Now it's better. Cornering is also way better.

Upgraded to 185/60/14 Yokohama ES100 and Lenso alloy wheels.

Removed the mudflaps as they were rubbing the front tyres on full turn.

Used the same stock wheels only. Not a big fan of alloys on the i10.

Should be a sea change from the 155/80R13 tires. I did the change first thing coming out of the showroom 3 years back.
