If I go in for Michelin, then only XM1 is available in this size, only for size 175/70R13. Are these the correct upsizes, and is there a better tyre than the XM1?

The other possibility is to go in for R14 rims. Then the possible upsizes are 175/65R14, 185/60R14 and 195/60R14 (from the spreadsheet on correct upsizes). All 3 options are available in Michelin Energy XM1.

-> Should I stick to 13", or go for 14"? The autocar review of the i10 mentions it had 14" rims when tested, so guess that shouldn't be a problem.
-> If I go in for 14", then feel that 195/60R14 would be too big for the li'l i10!
-> Finally am not sure about sizes available in Yokohama.

Alloys
Not sure about these. My main requirement is quality, looks come second. The Apollo Acelere wheelz have been mentioned a few times in the threads. But rim width could be a problem, as range seems limited. Have searched through the threads, and come up with the following:

Options
1) Go in for Michelin XM1 175/70R13, with recommended rim width of 5.5, and maybe the Acelere TorqueS016 alloys (13x5.5)
2) Go in for Michelin Energy XM1 185/60R14, with recommended rim width of 5.5, and maybe the Acelere SlayS031 alloys (14x5.5)
3) Am open to any other brand/size

Am confused :-), so need help from the gurus. Hope the post is not too long.

PS: Is this the first i10 post in the tyre and wheel section?

If you stick to 13" rims the upgraded tyre size should be 190/75/13

You can upsize to +1 and use 195/70/14

Those are absolutely wrong upsizes for i10 and there's no 190/75-13 tyre in the market..

I tried finding out about after market alloys (from Aura), and was told that the 13X5" models like F61350, G41350 would fit perfectly. If I go this route, it looks like I should get the offset calculations right, thanks to the upsize.
Also found out from the tyre bible site that 4B and 4J rims are different in contour. Wonder if this affects the choice of alloys.

Yes i did TD a i10 with Getz 175/70-13 tyres and 5j rims..
There was absolutely no issues of tyre fouling anywhere.

alloys : Also ensure hub diameter matches perfectly along with PCD & offset.

Difference in hub diameter can lead to vibrations at high speeds.

CarZest : Aura and Neo are Indian made alloys and come with a gaurantee but the downside being you dont have "the thing" look on them.

Many folks here including me did opt for alloys like League,HR,Plati to name a few who are decent and i will say VFM apart from the looks being impressive and I think you can check them too.

Are u planning to upgrade the tyres too?

kpzen: My usage will be only in the city. So I don't think tyres upgrade is needed.

The 195/60/R14 will foul in the wheel well over even small bumps and road level variations. I have personally had to take back 500 kms run tyres which I had fitted onto an i10. You can safely go in for 185/60/R14 though. I have replaced the tyres for the said customer with this size and it rides without any hiccups. Will post pics of the same tomorrow probabely.

So would that mean that a 15 inch upsize would require a 195/50 15 tire? I don't think Michelin makes an Energy tire in that size. Any suggestions for a 15 inch upsize WITH Michelin Energy tires?

I'm going to take delivery of an i10 in a day or two. The car would be a city run-about, so, i'm not too keen on changing too much. However, without changing the wheel (size 4"), only 155/80 (or 155/70) is possible. Anything above this (Michelin XM1 doesn't have 165/80 or 165/75), say 175, would require changing wheels. But changing wheels could complicate suspension geometry and wheel bearing loads (which have to be analysed and are beyond the abilities of my computer's processor!!).

Hey guys just wanted to confirm that does anyone have fixed 14 " in a I10 , because as much as i know I10 doesnt have that kinda space for any tyre or rim upgrade . Kindly confirm i want to know if somebody has a experience in the same . Thanks

Yes, please can someone shed some light on this one. My friend is getting his i10 next month and wants to put new alloys. So we were wondering whether we should upsize it or go with the stock size.
