Even my JK's keep getting flat, I was thinking as they are 3yrs old they must have lost their strength. As the latest flat was due to internal webbing cutting out.

aditya:: I don’t get it, why should there b any speedo error? But if there is, it’s no big deal. If there is a drive error then I will not go for 14". Is there a mileage drop due to 14" tyres?
When the Turbo can have a 14" with 165/65 I don’t see any prob as the other components on V2 & Turbo are the same.
In fact Turbo was initially launched only in DLX version & my Indica is also a DLX V2 NA.

greenhorn:: I am not for Apollo & Bridgestone tyres at all. Have had bad experiences on both.

Seen Yokohama & Michelin yesterday, can you suggest the better of the two.
Also can you guys suggest the best alloys available and where can I get a good deal?

michelin has XM1 in that size
yokos, I'm not sure

I find it strange that you've had issues with bridgestone. My indica came with S322's stock, and have had no issues so far ( and i drive pretty roughly and through some bad roads) , except for the lack of grip while cornering.

I'm planning to upsize to acelleres eventually

2 yrs back when we were driving from Bangalore to Mumbai at speeds of 120kmph my left rear tyre bust and when inspected found that the internal webbing had given way. I brought this to the notice of Concord motors and they gave me a reason that the tyre was over inflated.
It might be true but i have been driving frequently with family and every trip i ensure i get the air pressure checked. That incident has made me against them.

What size are you planning to upsize with and why aceller's?

as mentioned before , the lack of grip, and i need something with really tough sidewalls ( narrow lane with above ground slabs = a lot of damage to the sidwalls and wheels. my current tyres have held up fine. most reviews on t bhp also say acellere is good

re: Tyre change for Tata Indica

Good morning,
Need help regarding changing tyres.
My Indica has 165/65 R13 tyres and I'm not getting similar sizes.
Can i put 155/70R13 without any safety hazard. I'm getting Goodyear Assurance Duraplus2.
Please do reply.
Thank you so much.

Dont downsize, but instead try for 175/60 R13. 175 should be fine. We have owned a 2000 model Indica, and a 2004 Marina.

I've been using the 165/65 R13 as an upsize on my Alto K10 since 7 years and am replacing with XM2+ in the same size thru Premji tyres. If on a tight budget you should go for Continental CC5 Yokohama Earth 1. Freell available in your size online and offline.

Re: Tyre change for Tata Indica

Good morning,
Did some research and came across Indica having the sizes as follows
165/65R13
155/80R13
165/65R14
175/65R14

So contacted Tata ASS and they said that these are the sizes that can be used

155/80R13
&
175/65R14

He said don't use anything else and want accepting that my OEM was 165/65R13.

I will stick with OEM after what Condor said, but just wanted to share what happened.
Thanks once again.

Good morning,

I've come across the following tyres in original size:

-MRF ZXTS tube tyres (they suggest tube type as car is old and rims may not be proper)

-Kelly tubeless tyres(online, very very cheap from Tyresnmore)

-Apollo 4G life.(Apollo dealer)

Please do advice.

Re: Tyre change for Tata Indica

Good day friends,
Finally was able to get original 165/65/R13 tyres for my 17 year old Indica,(yes 2004 built, 2005 registered). There was no other company able to provide this size, excepting of course Kelly tyres from online portal Tyresnmore, but I wasn't keen on kelly.
Each and every dealer around said to move to 155/80/R13. Finally contacted Apollo tyres helpline and they shared the number for their area sales manager, who then searched and finally managed to get January 2022 manufactured tyres for me from Nashik. It worked out to 13500/- all inclusive.
So finally she now is on OEM size Apollo 4G Life. This should last till its time to let go of her. Yes with the 20 year cap on cars, its going to be the last 3 years with her.

These are her last pair of shoes.

Attached some pics of old rubber, new rubber, and after the new tyres.
