Well the outlet in HSR layout bangalore has many sizes, if you have any preference, let me know i can find out..its very close to my house.

Regarding the comparison with xm1+, apart from the treads there is not much difference i guess...the make/compound on the side wall of the both tyres is same, then why is xm2 superior ?

re: Michelin XM2 Tyres in India

In the initial lot they introduced only limited sizes as stated by me in the thread earlier but now the entire range is available.

Don't worry I have confirmed information directly from Michelin.

Bandhav - what's the recommended price for 185/65R14? Is it different by region, say Delhi vs. Punjab? thanks

^^For what Car you need it?

Anyway for Delhi the price is 4550 while in Punjab it will be 4600, mind you these are Michelin Recommended prices, you can always bargain with retailers to reduce these further.

I was inquiring for my dad's Figo. The tire change is a few months away and the car is currently on stock apollos 175/65. Will be upgrading to 185/65 for sure when we change. Yes, I understand that this is the recommended price so this is the max one should pay.

I'll surely call you to check final price before we actually buy.

Even I have a figo which needs a tyre change. I also intend changing it to 185/ 65 R 14. Have run 40k with the stock MRFs.
The best quote i got from Cochin is Rs 4400/- per tyre with free alignment balancing and nitrogen

re: Michelin XM2 Tyres in India

I was trying to find out the cost of XM2 for my friend who intends to change the tyres for his Verna but unable to source the cost of the tyre in Mumbai. The website says contact the dealer for the price. Dont understand why Michelin can't put up on their website, I guess they have left it to the dealer to extract from the customer their profit margin.

re: Michelin XM2 Tyres in India

^^What tyre size your customer's verna is running on?

The usual size of first gen verna 175/70 R 14 is not available in Michelin and if it's running on 185/65 R 14, price of the same in Mumbai will be 4550.

I guess my friend's Verna is the first gen (maybe 5+ yrs old) so he would be running on 175/70. If thats the case then Michelin would not suit him unless he upgrades to 185/65. I will check with him. Thanks anyways for the price details, will check and confirm.

re: Michelin XM2 Tyres in India

I had XM1+ 195/60/R14 on my Figo done about 51K kms.one of them developed a bubble after I hit a pothole at high speed at 49K kms . I was looking for a change for 2 months. My dealer asked me to wait.

I had almost finalized C drives mainly because the XM1+ at 195/60 made the figo too firm. I drive over non existent roads most of the time and the XM1+ came out very well in all the situations. The only problem was I kept grounding my car.The 185/65 XM2 solved that problem. I got them installed on Feb 25th maybe the first batch he got.

I have done 2400 KMs on them now. They are very silent. I rarely hit my underbody now, even in those speed breakers which used to touch no matter how careful I was. The whole driving experience is different because these tyres are more cushy and overall feel tougher to me. on the flipside, they grip level has come down. Maybe because of moving from 195 to 185. Highly recommended.

re: Michelin XM2 Tyres in India

I'm under tremendous confusion as I have very recently changed to new 185/65R14 Michelins for my Fiesta. A week later XM2 was launched. I fear that there won't be XM1+ anymore. I discussed with the known dealer, he is also confirmed the same.

To avoid this confusion, I'm planning to exchange my brand new XM1+ with XM2 tyres (bearing the loss). The dealer said that XM2 comes with more reinforced side wall to prevent damage etc.

Kindly advise me to proceed further

P.S: My current tyres just month old and covered 500Kms

Not worth it Jebs! The XM2 are pretty new in the market and give it sometime before you hear good reviews in the market or here on TBHP.

Enjoy the XM1+ till then
