Update is that I completed 10K KM's on the new set, ride quality and grip as I mentioned is real good. However had two punctures in this time. Thanks for the update. I just came back after changing my 4 tyres from the Michelin outlet in HSR Layout called Tyre Empire. Went with them because they're the nearest to my house and they have a decent facility to fix punctures, alignment, balancing, etc. Cost of 4 XM2 + fitting + alignment + balancing + 4 valves + credit card charge = Rs. 13.2K overall. My OEM MRF ZVTS tyres ran for 56252kms till today.

But there seems to be a caster/camber issue on the left side which needs to be fixed in the next service since I don't want the new tyres to be worn out.

My michelins xm ran about 44k. Xm1+ is gone in 32k. Need to replace and considering Pirelli. Any thoughts on Pirelli anyone? This is for my 120k completed Qualis. 195/70/14 is my size I believe.

Does anyone have idea about MICHELIN India launching XM2+ or any other successor in that series. Need to change my XM2 which I almost drove for 62,000 kms on Indian roads including drives in Ladakh region. I need to change tyres before monsoon.
IMO Michelin makes great tyres for Indian roads. My earlier XM1+ lasted for 71000 km, there were still some depth remaining and tyre shop concluded that it will last for more 10000 km. Since I was driving to Ladakh decided to change the tyres from XM1+ to XM2, which was newly launched in that period. I’m very happy with Michelin’s performance, especially on Indian roads.

XM1+ lasting for 71K is really great. Mostly I find people changing XM1+ in 35K KM.
My XM2 have clocked 15K KMs, & still look like new but with 2 punctures till now.

Regd XM2+, I had recently enquired from a TyrePlus store, but they have no such info.

There will be no XM2+. XM1+ was launched as an urgent measure to make sure that their brand name doesnt suffer as XM1 was getting worn out too fast.

The XM2 has performed well. So, I dont expect an out of turn upgrade. I'm expecting an upgrade only in another couple of years or so.

I own a Honda City ZX 08'model and I am changing my tyres after 58k kms on stock 175/60 r14 Bridgestones. I want to upsize the tyres while keeping the stock steel rims, and I have narrowed down to the following options :

1. Michelin XM2 195/60 R14 : Rs. 5300/tyre
2. Yoko ES100 195/60 R14 : Rs. 5100/tyre
3. Bridgestone ER60 195/60 R14 : Rs. 4800/tyre
4. Yoko A drives 195/60 R14 : Rs.5100/tyre

Are these prices fair and which one of these would be best for my requirement which is good ride and handling, performance, with reasonable tyre life. I will mostly be driving on good roads.
Also, should I be looking at 185/65's instead of 195/60's as Im on stock steel rims? Or would it not be much of a factor?

I changed the tyres in my uncle's City ZX to 185/65/14 Michelin XM2 last year. This gave him the much needed 5 mm of extra ground clearance & he has been quite happy since then.

185/65/14 is a deviation higher than the max acceptable tolerance, but in the case of ZX model, I still went ahead to get the extra GC.
195/60/14 is the logical upgrade on the same rims.
XM2 I found to be getting punctured a bit easily & do consider MRF ZLO as well.

Check snapdeal for great price on the michelins. I just bought two goodyears 195/70 14 for my Qualis. One is a 2012 Jan make and the other is a 2013 (yet to be delivered). Got them for 3700 each. In store this was quoted to me at 5200. They still carry the 3 year warranty and am happy.

Tubeless mouths - the mouths for my Qualis keep getting damaged and have needed replacement every few months. Any idea if this quality or deal can be improved? I must have changed atleast 6 times in the past year. Changed one tyre 5 days back and the mouth was fine. Yesterday wife had a flat, turned out mouth was the issue. This was on the new tyre.
I also think the lock on type nitrogen refueling cause some damage. We also tend to top up nitrogen almost every week. Is the frequent check and refill another reason for mouth failure?

XM1 had that problem. Michelin introduced XM1+ with added thread to take care of that. I am on XM2 and they look okay for the limited mileage that I have put till now.

I assume you are talking about about valve neck. I am using Schrader full rubber valves. They are bigger than usual and of very good quality.

And yes, make sure the person filling air or nitrogen is easy on the valve. Sometimes they twist it so bad that cracks are inevitable. And no need to top Nitrogen every week, once in 2 or 3 weeks is more than sufficient. Having a tyre pressure measuring gauge at home really helps.

Goodyear duraplus are the stock tyres in my new Dzire.
They are too noisy with just average grip. But the company claims them to be having a life of around 1 lac KMs. Though I think if the running is low, Duraplus won't be that good, as the rubber of Goodyear/JK tend to develop bulges/wear out within 3-4 years.
