I went to the dealer to see the tyre. Yes! Its a 165/65 R14 tyre. But i still doubt if its original or not.
Its a march 2015 manufactured tyre which says 'made in united kingdom'.

Any chance that these tyres are fakes?

I've completed nearly 37k kms with my Figo's XM2s and I can still see good life in them. Only I'm not sure if I should push them beyond 45 K, as I plan to do some highway drives in the next few months.

Any pointers to how long they last? My tyres are 34 months old.

If the tyres were kept at the right pressure most of the time and with timely alignment, balancing and rotation, I guess you can pull it a bit more. Hope there is even wear in all tyres.

I'm contemplating for XM2 as replacement where the current the are nearing it's end standing at 53K kms.

on googling I found this size only on UK sites. If the serial number is visible you can try checking Michelin UK site warranty page

While I was investigating about XM2s for my Fabia, most vendors told 40K as easy target and that with regular rotations 45K+ should be manageable.
Since your tyres condition is looking fine, it should easily continue for another 5K.
Probably you should just keep monitoring them every 1K.

Age-wise also its within 3years as of now.
It would probably take 3-4 months to do another 5K. which should keep the age well below 4years from date of manufacture
(i.e. even if we consider you had installed them around 6mnths from manufacturing date).

Anurag .. Your returns are anyway excellent.
I believe that's because of your consistent highway type running as also the age (IIRC its less than 2years).

My Swift ZDi is currently at 54,109 kms on the OEM stock tyres MRF ZVTV (185/65 R15). My Wheel alignment guy has said looking at the tyres that they are expected to run another 5K kms but I don't want the risk. So maximum is the tyre swap by weekend or by 10 days.

Main Requirements

• Silence during the drive (tired of the high NVH in the Swift) - Absolute priority;
• Grip - No tyre squealing;
• Decent price per tyre.

Confused between Michelin XM2 and Yokohama Earth 1.

Does anyone have prices for each of these tyres in Hyderabad?

Preferable/recommended locations for installing in Hyderabad?

Of the two go for Michelin XM2, have had better overall feedback on various threads here.
I have been using them for about 3 months (including a 1.5K trip) and found them more soft and less noisy w.r.t. Apollos I had earlier.

XM2s cost me 20K (all inclusive) for four and Earth1s were quoted to be around 17.5K.

Last week, I got new set of XM2 (185/60-R14) for my i10 and paid 26k for 5 including alignment and balancing.
But, I'm feeling steering very stiff, especially at the lower speeds and also, it's slightly pulling me to the right. I think, pulling thing needs to be fixed with realignment but not sure about the steering stiffness. Is this normal with new rubber?

Conti Max contact 5 are excellent tyres with super grip and feel and also good silence characterstics. New kid on the block. You might want to have that in your shortlist too!

Yeah .. pulling should be by-product of improper alignment/balancing.

Not sure what could be reason for steering stiffness, didn't notice this with mine.
You may want to have a chat with your service center adviser on that before going back to tyre dealer.

Changed tires of my Swift to 185/70/R14 XM2. Drove 40 km after getting the new tires. They cost me 4500 per piece. Initial experience:

1. They are silent (better than Earth 1 but as silent as ZLO, when they were new)
2. Steering definitely felt lighter
3. Felt grippy, but yet to test them on wet roads. ZLO were fabulous even after 57k of usage.

I hope, they are worth additional 1000 rupees per piece over ZLOs.

I am changing my Brio stock tyres from Goodyear to Michelin xm2. Tyre size is 175/65 14.

I have been quoted 4300 per tyre excluding the used tyres price.

Two other dealers have quoted 4800 and 4750.

All 3 have included fitting charges, alignment etc.

I want to go for the 4300 one but not sure why is he quoting so less in comparison to other two.

Snapdeal is offering 4400 but not going for that.

Some advice please ?

Just check the month and year of manufacturing from the tyre shop offering 4300 per tyre. If it is under an year old go for it! 4300 is an excellent price for XM2 in that size
