My friend wants to put 205/50 tyres on his Swift Vxi..

1) can anyone recommend which is the correct upsize ? 15 inch or 16 inch for the tyre size 205/50 .
2) Also what "J" is recommended. 6.5/7
3) Finally also need recommendations on good tyre brands available in the
recommended size , ie 205/50 / 15 or 16.

Priority is looks. Car would be driven in Bangalore.

HF - You'll get all your answers in this thread including the recommended upsizes for the Swift.

To answer your other questions:

2. 6.5 or 7 both are fine for 205's.

3. Available options in that size are:
Yokohama S-Drive

Can any one please suggest me best tyres for Swift VXi. I am not looking for upsize. I want to replace my stock tyres. They give up at high speeds. Any idea how much should I get for stock tyres. Car has done 5.5k kms.

If u dont want to spend on Alloys then u can go for 185/70-14 Bridgestone GIIIs or Michelin XM1.
You wont get much for your existing tyres which has done 5.5k kms.

Upsize or not upsize

I have gone in for Bridgestone Potenza GIII 195/60R14. Amazing tires using since about 8000 kms. Another good option is also the Goodyear Eagle 195/60R14. But if you want more comfort then go for 185/70/R14 in either brand.

Are u running 195/60-14 in your Swift? If so then thats a wrong upsize.

Why do you say it's a wrong upsize? Is there any damage done to the car if run on this? Please give me some details on this.

Regards
