| ![]() Michelin has revealed the next generation Primacy 4. PDF Link The tyre has been launched in the UK and I expect the South East Asian version to be launched in India eventually. Those interested in the Primacy series can wait for the Indian launch to get the latest generation of tyres. Youtube link for a close look at the tread pattern. |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Already soft launched in India but in limited sizes mostly 17"+. Your attachment was very informative, thanks! PS4 comparison looks impressive. Unfortunately, going by historical trends, they will probably milk the PS3 and P3ST until the very end while restricting supplies of the PS4 :-( Last edited by itwasntme : 6th February 2018 at 10:45. The Primacy 4 is not launched in India. The Pilot Sports 4 has been launched. Not a soft launch. Tyres are available and many people are using them. Launched in a few sizes last year July-August and a few more sizes added recently. Starting in 16" and going up to 18"

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() The video shows the tire as Primacy 4. Maybe this tire is not from the Indian market or the video is not shot in India. The pilot sport 4 seems to be a very high end tire. Edit: The video is not shot in India. So, we are still waiting for the launch of Primacy 4. Last edited by govigov : 11th February 2018 at 23:51. | ![]() Guys, no point in discussing or "waiting" for the Primacy 4. We get a completely different tyre which is designed for developing markets like India, China, Indonesia and all the other South Asian and South East Asian markets. They may use a similar tread pattern to what is sold in Europe, but there are enough differences to call it a different tyre. The construction is different, the rubber compound is different and so on. I've heard from Michelin that there is no hint even of the Primacy 4 ST being considered. So, that means it is very very far from the market. Quote:
Why so confused? P3ST is different. Primacy 3 ST. They are fast moving and latest production tyres are available freely and easily in the market. PS3 is different. PS3 has been replaced with PS4. PS = Pilot Sport. PS4 hasnt been released in 225/50-16. There's a separate thread on TBHP for Pilot sport 4. PS3 is 2015-16 production only. Why is everyone so confused? Just go the Michelin site and browse and you will clear this confusion. Last edited by Nikhilb2008 : 12th February 2018 at 00:08.

| ![]() P3ST = primacy 3 silent tread (premium regular use) PS3 = pilot sport 3 (premium sporty track use) I think michelin and us, should stop using acronyms and use the full name. |

| ![]() I have recently purchased ES and it is shod with MRF 205/60 R16. I thought of exchanging the stock with P3ST 205/60 or 215/60 and had asked few of the tyre dealers in my place for the quote. What would be fair expected value for the existing stock tyre and also if I am exchanging I will be going with the stock dimensions however need guidance if it worth considering 215/60 as well. Thanks in advance for your suggestions. |

![]() To add to us laymans' confusion, the PS3 now seems to have a suffix renaming it as the PS3ST :-). So now it is P3ST vs PS3ST Last edited by itwasntme : 12th February 2018 at 13:32. Reason: Formatting

BHPian ![]() | ![]() I got an offer to change my Brezza Zdi+ tires from Apollo Alnac 4GS 215/60 R16 to Michelin Primacy 3ST 215/60 R16 or 225/60 R16 for 18k after buy back. Is it a good upgrade? I am looking for ride quality improvement more than cornering ability. Will there be any improvement in ride quality? if yes which one to choose among Michelin 215/60 or 225/60? Please reply. |
