| ![]() A very useful comparison mobike008. I have had the P3STs for about 7 weeks now (early Sept 13) but the car hasn't been used extensively in this period. Just a couple of hundred Kms. I find these tyres have a better handling courtesy a firmer sidewall and surprising a better grip. The steering feels more planted and stiff. They have more or less the same noise levels at the PLCs. I am planning to travel by car out of town early November after Diwali, approximately 500 kms each way. But I'll be babying the tyres during that run. They are still in the "running-in" period. That link at tirerack.com states 500 miles/800 Kms. Either way my wife ensures I don't get too enthusiastic on the highways, so sedate driving at 100 Km/hour it will be. | ![]() Snapdeal is offering 10% discount on most of the tyres. You would get "Michelin Primacy 3ST - 195/60R15" for Rs. 5738 which seems to be very good deal ![]() Free : DIWALI OFFER ! Extra 10% OFF using promocode DIWALI10 http://www.snapdeal.com/search?keywo...D=&dealDetail= |

| ![]() Which would you pick Primacy 3ST or Conti CSC5? Looking to put them in my BMW 520d e60 in 225/50R17 size. Price for Michelin is 14k and Conti is 11.5 Priority is comfort and reliability. Let me know your views! |

| ![]() Get the Michelins, the Contis are Sport Contacts and will have a stiffer ride. Also the Primacy3s are apparently made for India conditions, and I think they are OEM fitment on the A6s. |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() I have used the Primacy 3ST for about 4500kms till now and did a recent trip on them for 2400kms and I was not overtly impressed with 3ST. Due to nature of long trip, I deliberately was running 2PSI higher and the ride was naturally little bouncy (as expected) but, what surprised me was that handling took some toll. Compartively, CPC2 which I used for 47,000kms were excellent in comfort, road grip ( phenomenal in wet) and super silent. I could be wrong in my judgement but, I didnt find the 3ST superior to CPC2. At best, both these tyres can be equal. Last edited by mobike008 : 10th January 2014 at 12:01. Reason: typos |

| ![]() Why doesn't Michelin make tire in 185/60/R15 which is the stock size for VW Polo Highline? I am dying to change my ridiculous JK Vectras which I got stock with the car. My car being the 1.6 liter, the Vectras are useless to handle the 105 bhp of power. I prefer sticking to the stock size though. Any suggestions? |

195/60 R15 should be a good fit too ![]() What are your reservations for not preferring an upsize ? Last edited by karan561 : 10th January 2014 at 12:43.

| ![]() If I do upsize I believe I will have to look at the 205/55/R15 and not the 195/60/R15 as the 205 is closer to stock. Isn't 205 too much for the Polo? |

If you wish to upgrade move over to 195 60 R15, Continental CPC2. As it also gives you a 6 mm increase in GC. 205 55 R15 is now a very rare tire size and available with Yokohama S-Drives which are famous for side wall bulges & tear. I would rather put my money on 195 60 R15 CPC2 or JK Vectra.

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() VW Jetta stock tyre is 205 / 55R16. Is it better / enough if I stick to stock size or should I go for an upgrade? If upgrading is a better option, which following size would be better? 1. 215 / 55R16 - Road contact will improve and GC will also be slightly better.. 2. 205 / 60R16 - FE will remain same. GC will improve and ODO error which is right now on the higher side, will reduce. Upgrading the size will also give a better Load and Speed rating. This some how gives me confidence (psychological), when I am opting for Michelin tyres... ![]() Tyre experts - Kindly suggest... ![]() |

205/55-16 is a very good size and I suggest you get some good quality rubber like Michelin, Yoko, Conti CPC2, or similar and you will be very happy.

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() My Cruze has touched 40k and the stock Vectras have nearly reached the TWI point. Are much more noisier now and feel 'harsher' too. Experience has been overall good! With its sturdy sidewalls, have never had to change a tyre at the roadside but have had many 'slow' leaks due to the godforsaken Bangalore roads. Will stick to stock size, i.e. 205/60 16. Apart from the usual JK Vectra (cheapest) and Michelin P3ST (pricey), new options are the Vredestein (pricey!), Apollo Alnac 4G and MRF ZLO. Which one? Usage is 90% city and want a mix of handling and comfort too. |

| ![]() I changed my Vento tyres to 195/60R15 Primacy 3ST on the very first day. After nearly 2000 KMs in a month, I can clearly say that Primacy 3ST is not as good as PLC. My car had two sets of PLC before, and together has clocked more than 85,000 KMs. The ride quality on P3ST is harder and grip is lower than PLC. |

If money is not a problem and if you are not adventurous during the balance 10% of the time, go for a tyre with softer side wall like cpc2.... ![]() Last edited by Chethan B G : 12th January 2014 at 09:43.
