My response would obviously be yes, but will it have an impact? This second can be further clarified only by you:

How often do you drive fully loaded?
Does the Verna petrol have overly soft suspension?
Do you drive over steep speed-breakers regularly or on rough undulating ground?
How much gap is there between the current tyre and the wheel arch (inside) when you turn full lock? IS it marginal or healthy?

If yes, then the reduction in distance between tyre and wheel-arch is a potential issue. Else not.

re: Michelin Primacy 3 ST Tyres

I would like to replace my Verna's Bridgestone B250 tyres. The stock size is 195/55/R16, would like to bump this up to 195/60/R16 and primacy 3ST seems to be the only option available in changemytyre.com. Would this profile bump be anything of concern?

My major criteria for a tyre is road noise>comfort>handling. My major rid are on the highway and prefer to have tyres which are strong. Would the Primacy 3ST fit my requirements? Should I be looking at anything else?

If I stick to the OEM size of 195/55/R16

1. Continental ContiMaxContact MC5 Tubeless

2. Falken SINCERA SN835 Tubeless

3. Pirelli Cinturato P1 Verde Tubeless

These look like good options to me, any thoughts or insights to help me make a decision.

You could go for 205/55R16 Primacy 3 right now or if you can search a bit, you can even get Primacy 4 in that size.

Hey Sidhu, not a big fan of upsizing hence sticking to the current size. Also a small bump of 5mm would it be an issue for the car?

Re: Michelin Primacy 3 ST Tyres

Looking to replace tyres for my Linea, so just enquired for Primacy 3ST (195/65R15) at Michelin Shop on Koramangala 80ft Road (they quoted ₹6,900/- after discounts as this is an outgoing model).

Now wondering if I should wait for 1-2 months until Primacy 4 is distributed widely.

Any suggestions?

There were 2 instances of a friend (and then another friend's friend) picking up Primacy 4STs from Madhu's last week. Apart from this I heard from Arun that a BHPian has plonked a set of 4STs on his Rapid and is raving about it.

Looking at how we have had XM2 better both XM1 and XM1+, I am sure any shortcomings from Primacy 3STs would also be addressed in 4STs going by Michelin's improvement with their offerings.

I have used XM2 for 93K and now on Primacy 3ST for 60K and have no complaints really. You may want to wait but am sure you will mostly hear positive things about 4STs.

Did you just say 93k

The main advertised feature of 4ST is the grip levels when worn compared to competition. So benefits will be noticed only after considerable use.

Just curious, what are the shortcomings of 3ST. Isnt it one of the best money can buy for that size ?

Like I mentioned in my earlier post, I haven't come across any and they bettered XM2s In every sense. Grip levels both in dry and wet conditions as well as noise too which I found silent compared to XM2s.

The price seems high. I got a set of 4 fitted for 26k (at SLNP pit stop Kalyan Nagar back in may, before P4 was announced. Should be cheaper now.

Rs.6,900 for P3ST is way too high, I got a quote of 6,700/- for Primacy 4s of the same size from Millivisions Marketing Pvt Ltd [Krumbigal Road, Near Lalbagh Main Gate]. Try calling them...

The Dealer price in Gurgaon is 6150, anything higher is pure margins

Re: Michelin Primacy 3 ST Tyres

Took delivery of my Radiant Red Jazz V CVT today. It came with Bridgestone 175/60 R15 tyres. By the end of the day she was wearing the Michelin Primacy 4 ST 195/60 R15s

Got a message from Michelin India with regard to the Warranty. Here is what I got.

The 4STs were priced at 6550 per piece. The exchange offer for the Bridgestone was 2850 per piece.

I got Michelin Primacy 3 ST for our Skoda Superb 3 months back from the same shop in Cochin, it probably was a one-off issue (I can't believe they would be in business if this happened to everyone) but everything including the tire pressure, alignment and balancing wasn't done right.

The first problem that was immediately apparent was the tire pressure. All 4 tires were different pressure in the range of 40+ PSI, TPM showed something was wrong after about 10 minutes of driving. The balancing issue happened only at high speeds (felt like a vibration in the steering, instead of being planted like a Skoda it feels like an unsure hatchback that wasn't made to do highway speeds), initially chalked it up to being a new tire and thought it would go away after running in. Today I showed it at a shop in Kottayam and they showed me two of the alloy wheels were slightly bent causing the vibration/wobbling at/above 100 kph. I'm not accusing the Cochin shop of doing this without being 100% sure, but I distinctly remember first feeling this issue on the drive after getting the tires changed. Also all 4 tyres had uneven wear on the inside due to improper alignment. My intention is not to post something negative due to my experience but just to give you a heads up that you might want to re-check if everything was done right. It probably was a one-off issue with me being the unlucky recipient (though I still can't understand how all 3 were messed up, probably it was all done by the same person).

And, congrats on getting those Michelins. They come highly recommended and I can vouch for their comfort and low noise compared to my previous Good year Eagle NCTs. Though, above 100 kph my Superb runs like our unsure Celerio now

Re: Michelin Primacy 3 ST Tyres

Cross posting from another thread

Got new tyres for my 1 week old 450+ km run new Linea T-Jet 125s. Car came with Goodyear Eagle NCT5 tyres which were very noisy. So i went to the tyre shop just to check what price the goodyears will fetch, honestly wasnt determined to swap them but the deal was quite good. Changed to Michelin Primacy 3ST. Got them for 7800 a piece plus weight charges and the Goodyears' buyback was 6000 a piece. One tyre's manufacturing is 39th week of 2018 while other 3 are of 40th week of 2018, Dealer is Autoserve/Bakshisons on main GT road. This was my first time buying tyres from them for any car and the owner is a very nice helpful person. Didn't bother to check with any other dealer regarding the buyback for Goodyears as i only wanted Michelins. The tyres are absolutely silent compared to the outgoing Goodyears.

The dealer also had Conti MC5 which were 400/piece cheaper and Michelin Primacy 4 which were 1200 a piece expensive. This is my first set of Michelin tyres and as I understand they are highly rated. Michelin Primacy 3 ST Tyres-img_20190225_175718.jpg

Re: Michelin Primacy 3 ST Tyres

My 205/55/16 P3STs have now run ~13k and I am lately noticing increased road noise from them. There is of course plenty of tread left so surprised. Anything I can do to mitigate this?
