Many thanks for this very informative PDF.

Got my car a new set (4) of 185/65R14 Earth1 today. Rs. 4150/- a piece.
Balancing and Alignment extra.

Stock tyres (Goodyear GT3 175/65R14) had given me a good performance for 42K kms. Over the past 10K kms, they had become noisy and less efficient on speedy turns.

Any idea as to when can we expect earth-1 in 195/60/R15 size? I am looking to upsize from 38K old stock BS B250's on my Manza (size-185/60/R15). Front two tyres have almost gone bald and rear ones can still go for 2-3K km more. I am willing to wait for a month or so. If not, my next choice is C-drive/Bridgestone ER60.

Not before february 2015 my friend. I suggest the C-Drive, it's a good tyre.

How do you compare C Drive with Earth 1 from your experience? I have a C drive currently and was contemplating the earth 1 during next replacement. I am very happy with the C drive in grip and silence aspects . Earth 1 being a new Tyre I am presuming new technology would have gone into it. So is it better than C drive? Will it be a positive upgrade?

Re: Yokohama Earth-1 Tyres (designed for India)

Changed my Beat's stock Apollo 155/70/R14 to 175/65/R14 Yokohama Earth 1.

Initial feeling is good. Only put 8 KMs on new shoes. So nothing on handling part now.

Cheers!

Both are different tyres. Earth one leans more towards longevity and value for money. The C-Drive is a more grippy and sportier tyre - hence will have lower mileage. if you tend take corners at high speeds more often than not and also like a bit of high speed driving, stick to C drive's they're good performers.

Re: Yokohama Earth-1 Tyres (designed for India)

I exchanged stock Goodyears with Earth 1 immediately after delivery of new Innova V on 1st Oct. 14. After 900Km in Delhi driving and 230 Km to Alwar, i've no issues with the yoko's performance . Handling is confident and road noise is negligible compared to the michelins in my Honda city zx.

Wanted to go for C-drives but few reports here of side wall damage on hitting curb corners etc. made me decide to go for earth 1.

Hi ScanD, I am looking to change tires for my Etios Liva to Earth 1. Could you share the dealer details from where you sourced these?

Re: Yokohama Earth-1 Tyres (designed for India)

Exchanged the stock MRF ZVTV's straight and got the Earth 1' 185/65 R15 for my new Swift ZDi.

Initial impressions are very good. This tyre is very comfortable, the grip is good and the centre steel rim makes the handling feel well directed. The road noise is as good as gone and grip levels have definitely improved.

Overall would recommend these over XM2's for now.

Re: Yokohama Earth-1 Tyres (designed for India)

Last month changed the tires of my car to Earth 1. Sized up from 175/65/14 to 185/65/14.

Driven around 1000 kms so far and I am enjoying the comfortable ride. 4 tyres at 17800 including alignment and balancing at Sai Iyengar tyres next o IIM B on BG Road.

Re: Yokohama Earth-1 Tyres (designed for India)

Today, I got a new set of Earth-1s, 175/65/14, at Sai Iyengar BG Road. Set me back by 16.5K. Package included new valves, balancing and alignment.

Praveen (store manager) gave me a new Lotto track suit, in black and red. Said its a gift from Yokohama for buying four tyres. Also, got 800 rupees for my old tyres.

While I was there a gent came in with his father. He had with him a wheel that was shod with an A-Drive. The sidewall had an inch-long cut! I chatted with him a bit and asked him how it happened. Apparently he was trying to park and got too close to a kerb, albeit at a very low speed. It was a wicked cut. I am now concerned. If that could happen to an A-Drive, then did I land myself a lemon? Fingers crossed!
