Re: Yokohama launching Earth-1 Tyres (designed for India)

Just ordered a set for my Swift. The stock tires lasted a good 60k, but its about time.
I was contemplating the C or A drives, but with these launched at the right time, at a cheaper rate than that of the C Drives, have taken a decision to buy.

It's cost me ~4200 a piece, which is before I bargain and get it even cheaper

Shall update a brief report once changed, soon.

Does this mean this tyre is in the league of MRFs like ZSLK or ZVTS? Then I guess it will be a hard compound tyre.

A simple chart from the Yokohama website (link) explaining the positioning of the various product lines. The Earth-1 is positioned between the A-drive and the C-drive.

After looking at this chart, I think I'll go with the C-drive's as an option for my Laura along with contenders from other brands.

Is Sport is grip and Comfort is for ride quality, what is Premium in the above chart, Price? They could have instead given a durability axis.

Good question. "Premium" could refer to either price or your willingness to pay I too wish they had one for durability since I assume the Comfort aspect stretches to cover noise levels

Re: Yokohama launching Earth-1 Tyres (designed for India)

Got the earth series 185/65 14 installed day before. Must say, these feel great. The ride is much smoother now and the car feels much more grippy. Was running appolo accelere's earlier and the difference between the two is quite significant

Re: Yokohama launching Earth-1 Tyres (designed for India)

I have 185/65/14 on my figo and I am very happy with it.
Is 195/60/15 available? I am thinking to change on my swift as es100 has worn out.

Re: Yokohama launching Earth-1 Tyres (designed for India)

Got 185/65/14 for City Zx. Cost - INR 16000 for a set of four!

Drove back 30 kms on them. Initial reaction - they feel to have improved the grip and the steering felt lighter (I don't know how); ride quality has improved but they are not as silent as MRF ZLO. Will update once I cross 1000 km on them.

Re: Yokohama launching Earth-1 Tyres (designed for India)

Whats the price difference between A drives and Earth -1 for 185/65R14 size?

Also how is the "stone affinity"? Only issue I had with my Adrives during the initial 35K was the small stones getting struck and they keep hitting the wheel wells when getting dislodged.

Re: Yokohama launching Earth-1 Tyres (designed for India)

My Innova's tyres have come up for replacement am considering Yoko Earth -1 would it be choice compared to:

Bridgestone Ar10
Continental Conti Premium Contact 2
Bridgestone B390

From the research done B390 come as OEM on some innova vehicles, couldn't find enough information to base an opinion on them.
Continental ContiPremium: Exceptionally good on wet suface, some complaints do exist on quality, uneven wear and bulges
Bridgestone AR10: Supposed to be good. A safe bet because Bridgestone have had good success in India i.e lesser problems reported sans other manufacturers
Finally Earth -1: Bhpian Nikhilb2008 has given them a good rating and says they have focused on making the tyre stronger and long lasting.

My requirements is good comfort and long lasting tyres (50k kms) tyre noise needs to be low but not very low as the air con is on and audio is running most of the time.

Re: Yokohama launching Earth-1 Tyres (designed for India)

Would these fit the stock alloys on a Beat diesel? How much would the 175/65/R14s cost for a set of 4?
