Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Dear Friends,
Its time to renew the shoes on the Jazz.
After lot of research understand the upsizing is the way forward.
The available options are 185/65 and 195/60
For city drives which is 90 % in my case feel 185/65 is a better option and more applicable.
It does not affect the milage so much - Petrol FE is already low
Daily running is 40 kms in city traffic with an Avg Eco of 12 kmpl.

My current choices are down to :
GOODYEAR ATM 2
and
YOKOHOMA BLUE EARTH GT ( out of stock - waiting)

The other two options are :
YOKO E1 MAX i hear are too noisy and UC 6 too soft for Bombay roads

Any suggestions are welcome.

The pricing is between 6500-7000 per tyre.

Hey vinit, in terms of upsizing, 195/60 is the better choice since the circumference difference will be miniscule. However, that will be an overkill for a 90PS engine. You are anyways dealing with low FE. I will recommend the OEM spec.

For OEM spec, Blue Earth GT is a good choice. However, I can vouch for UC6 since I have them on my Tjet since last 20K kms and they are quite good. Super smooth ride, great handling and zero puncture yet. Fuel efficiency, however, isn't its strong forte and I will put them slightly below Michelins on this regard.

Hope this helps.

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

I recently changed two tyres of my Jazz a month back. I have the stock sizes and I replaced with Yokohoma Earth 1 tyres. Seems good so far.

Hi are you saying to stick to 175, but those are really tiny and undersized since day 1

UC 6 is the most recommended, agree, but the suburban Bombay roads are so bad im worried about multiple punctures and constant hesitation on driving even more carefully

UC6 is not too soft and unreliable - I have the UC6 on the Swift and Bridgestone Turanza 6i on the City (175/65 R15) - now the Turanza 6i is a much softer tyre but I havent had any issues on my drives with either tyre.

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Guys, have one Bridgestone Ecopia 175/65 R15 - the un-used spare from my car. I believe some variants of the Jazz have this size.

IMO would be suitable esp if you want a fresh tyre for the spare. Do Ping. Location - Bangalore. ( My other 4 tyres are upsized to 185)

Dear all,

After lot of deliberation, discussion, feedback and suggestions on this forum, have gone ahead and picked up new shoes for the JAZZ

It no surprise that the choice was overwhelming and decision taken to install Conti UC 6 as new shoes.

Size chosen was : 185/65

Thanks to all for the suggestions !

Hi,

Congratulations on the new shoes!
I am also looking to replace my Jazz’s old shoes.
The choices are:

1. Michelin 185/65 XM2+
2. Conti 185/65 UC6
3. Bridgestone 185/65 Turanza

Can you kindly share your initial experience of the UC6? Also, can you share the cost you paid for the tyres? Was the Wheel Alingment and Wheel Balancing complimentary or did you have to pay for it?

Thank you.

Hi, thanks for the wishes
I am quire satisfied with the new shoes and the ride is very plush after the Jazz getting them.

I paid 26000 including everything.

I have also invested in a TPMS system which is external with solar display for the new shoes and gives live reading and solar charging.
