Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

I am planning to change the tyre's on the Jazz soon at 25k kms and 5 years. Mine is city car and sees no highway runs. Its a 1.2 CVT and hardly has the grunt to stress the OEM MRF.

I really don't feel the need for 195/60/15, at the same time I do not like the looks of 175/65/15. What do you guys think of 185/65/15? I am ok with speedo error.

I tried 185/65 r15 and reverted back to 175/65 within 200 kms of ride. Ride quality becomes floaty and it affected the handling. Better to go for 195/60 or stick with the same original size. Jazz has sharp handling and 185/65 made it feel like a lazy dump truck. I might have the pics in Jazz thread

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Thanks to the discussions here, I have gone ahead with 195/60/15 Michelin Primacy 4 ST for my 2015 Jazz Idtec on OEM steel wheels itself. Was planning to upgrade to an alloy but didn't find any to my liking, so postponed to another day.

Post installation have not driven much to form a definitive opinion but on initial impression felt that the steering was lighter, not a lot of gains on the handling front and probably felt the bad roads more compared to my OEM tyres which is to be expected considering the extra width but its not a deal breaker.

My OEM MRF had completed 5 years and 2 months / 44700 kms.

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

My Jazz is due for a tyre change. My odo is at around 41K & the front left is worn out totally & around 10-20% thread depth left on front right. Contacted couple of Michellin dealers in Hyderabad & enquired about 195/60/15 Primacy 4 ST & they said its being stopped and no stock of it. They in turn suggested me 185/65 is better for Jazz than 195/60. Would like to hear from experts who have tried on both these sizes.

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

After contemplating between mrf perfinza and continental UC6, finally went for UC6(195/60R15) couple of days back. Initial observations(in comparison with Stock Goodyear Assurance Triple max) are,

1) They are super quiet, Realized more on Concrete roads.
2) Comfort levels improved a lot, on stock tires a sharp thud and vibration passed in to the cabin while driving over the pot holes, Now they are quite muffled.
3) The steering became bit heavier at high speed , but no noticeable difference at low speeds.

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Need new tyres for my steed. A quick question to all those who have upsized. Are u still able to use the undersized spare tire? An answer would help me zero in on the correct size

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Took the plunge finally. My 2017 jazz came with Michelin xm2+ tyres as stock. They lasted me 52000+ km.
Considered Michelin (expensive), Yokohama blue earth, mrf perfinza and continental for similar performance and traits (and price range)
Finally settled on Yokohama for availability and offers.
Compared 195/60, 185/65, 185/60 and 175/65. Liked the 185/65 and 195/60 options but these were available only in Yokohama earth 1 range not in the blue earth GT model that I was looking for. Also, I was slightly apprehensive about their usage with the undersized spare 170/70/14 (if I am not wrong). Finally, went in for the stock size Yokohama blue earth GT.
Cost me 19000/- for the set of four including fitment, alignment and balancing.

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

My ride finally had its new boots in the form of 195/60 R 15 P4ST....Drove back home from the shop & the ride was butter smooth. Will post update after a longish ride this weekend. Lucky to get P4 tyres considering their scarcity because of the ban.

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

I have been using 195 60 R15 MC5's in my jazz and currently those aren't available at my location. It's time to change the old ones and I'm confused choosing between Yoko Blue earth and Conti UC6. Appreciate if someone could help me out.

Hi Siddarth....In my opinion you wouldn't go wrong with either. Price wise too they may be similar.

Go for the better deal in terms of cost and date of manufacture.

Re: Honda Jazz : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Changed the Tyre's on the Jazz yesterday. The current MRF's had aged and cracked at 30000 kms and 5.5 years.

Michelins are no where available so the choice was between Yokohoma Earth 1 and Continental UC6. Based on the reviews on Team-bhp and dealers recommendation Went for UC6 185/65/r15 at a total cost of 21000/- all inclusive.

Initial experience is the tyre's are silent, can't say much about the grip since car is only driven in the city.

Old MRF's

I’m planning to change my current Michelin XM2s on my Jazz to Continental UC6 as well. Wanted to check what was the total price for the UC6? And where in Chennai did you buy/install? Thanks!

Coming from the MC5s, the Continental UC6 will probably be a better option for you. The Blue Earth appears to be balanced more towards longevity.
