Upgrade for Accent CRDi. Potenza g3 or dunlop 901s.

hi guyz,

after approx. 43k kms of running , the bridestone (stock) tyres are ready to give way for a new set of wheels for my accent crdi...

having sat in a friend`s accent, running on 185/60r14 potenza g3s ...i was really impressed ! (stock being 175/70r13).

neways the tyre dealer whome i did speak to, offered me dunlop fm901 for Rs.3200/- each. and they looked awesome to say the least....well not the right thing to say initially...hehe..still did some googling and found tht they fared pretty well among others ....

now as far as potenza g3s go, ive read a lot about them frm all u guyz, how good they are....and they definately are, having driven them....but those dunlops have set me thinking again. so guyz plz let me know what should i go for...coz both seem to be quite evenly matched...

also if i go in for 195/60r14 would i be killing the FE and ride in anyways...or should i just stick to 185/60r14s ....thnx

Hi Amit,

It is more of a personal choice. I would say Dunlop or Yokohoma as I have tried all of them and found the above 2 to be better. AM not saying the GIII are bad just I dont like them.

Regards,

Hi,

If you are performance oriented then go for 195/60/14 if not then go for 185/60/14.

If you are looking for performance the the 901 are supposed to be something else... so say the ppl who drove it during the track meet ...

YOu can consider Yokohama ES100 's toio.. the ones Viper is talking about...

hey amit
i wud say go for the 195/60R14 for your accent...as most of them already pointed out that Bridgestone GIII are proven tyres...a better option then...as far as Dunlop is concern they are not the original british Dunlop anymore but a tyre from the cheaper Sumitomo brand of Japan...so am not sure about the quality as they are sold through these private importers sometimes smuggled......unlike some of them fitted on the Camrys imported from Toyota ...I would suggest you can also try Michelins Pilot Preceda though they are a bit costly....
