Tyres Upgrade for swift VXI

hi,

I have just purchased a swift vxi and the factory fitted jk tyres (165/80/14) have unacceptable amounts of noise and extremely poor grip.

please help me with the best options for:

1. best tyre upgrades on existing factory rims.

2. best tyre rim combination incase i can afford to change both.

keeping in mind minimum sacrifice in ride comfort and fuel efficiency.

thanks.

Alloy wheels:
14" set of 4 pcs - 13-15k
15" set of 4 pcs - 16-20k

Tyres:
185/70 R14 - Rs. 3k-3.3k
185/60 R14 - Rs. 3k-3.3k
195/60 R14 - Rs. 3.2k-3.5k
195/60 R15 - Rs. 3.5k-4k
These prices are per tyre for good brands like Bridgestone, Michelin, Goodyear etc.

Decide your budget accordingly. Secondly if you haven't used the stock tyres much you can get some trade-in value for those too.

If you are going for new Rims then the best option would be 195/60/15, you wont lose much ride but will gain handling and stability, but if you go for 14 then i guess the 185/70/14s are more then enough.

Hi,

I would recommend Yokohoma ES100 195/60/14 on your stock rims. The tyres cost approx 2700 each.

As far as the alloys are concerned if you want to retain your rim size then the tyre size I have mentioned is good if you want to upsize rims then go for 205/50/15 same tyres.

The prices Iraghava quoted are corect except that they are for set of 5 and not 4.

Thanks for the response.

I have decided to stick to the stock rims for now and change just the tyres.

Of the following sizes below

185/70/14
185/65/14
195/60/14

which one do you guys think would the best compromise between(handling/ride/economy) and which tyre brand and type (directional/uni directional) would be best.

I drive about 80-90 kms a day through some not so great roads.

Also i just plan to purchase 4 tyres, would that be ok?

Thanks.
