Put the rest of your money on picking up 255/65/R16 tires and give that butch look to the scorp'. Think about it !!
@rjstyles69
thanks you just confirmed my doubt about the price of the alloys..
my chap is saying that cos they chrome they gonna cost more ...

abt the 255/65/R16 tyres that was my first choice , to butch up the scorpio...but the tyre experts advised me against it , bcos apparently they have had some issues with some wheels touching on lock to lock, and under full load .

are you sure that the 255/65/R16 wont cause any problems??
cos i do some interstate driving with abt 6 passengers and their baggage..
occasionally...
in fact im putting on these tyres cos im gonna be tripping thru , karnataka, kerala & TN in March!!!!!

I'm looking at changing my Scorpio tires [turbo 2.6, 15inch]. I drive mostly on tarmac [99%?]. Most of the threads seem to suggest Yokohama; though I didn't have any complaints about Bridgestone. My current tubed-tires have done about 67K.

Could some one share the price of Yokohama Geolander AT / HT at Bangalore for my Car?

We are going to Pick up a Scorpio SLE next week.
Its coming with Crappy JK Elanzo's
Vehicle would be used within City\Highways\Touring in Himalayas
What makes more sense a Geolander H\T or A\T
What would be a Perfect upsize?
do we get any tyres in 245\65\R16 Size?

Akshay, Scorpio VLX suspension is best suited for Bridgestone tires, please insist on Bridgestone only, although due to some unknown reasons it comes with JK tyres.

Spikey
Its a SLE not a VLX
And i inspected vehicles in dealers yard yesterday.
All VLX's had Bridgestone Dueler's where as SLE's had JK's

Akshay, by VLX i meant latest scorpios with eagle engines, sorry for creating confusion. Yes i know, it is a SLE and not a VLX and SLE comes with JK only, but it still uses the same DAC (drive away chassis), so the FAW,RAW,Kerb weights,Sprung/Unsprung weights must be similar na? So tyres need to be apt na? Am i correct?

@Spike, Why do different models have different tyre options? Do mfrs actually evaluate each version with different tyre brands or is it pure n simple economics??

Sorry for the confusion.
But all the SLE's in the yard had JK's and VLX's had bridgestone's
Why this?
I might be switching over to Yokohoma's in stock size or either a max of 245\70(are tyres with 65 profile available?)\R16.

I told you earlier due to some unknown reason JKs are being used, if you are switching over to Yokos then it doesn't matter.

i dont wanna mess with the already not so nice handling

depends on the lot riju. most of the LX & SLE scorpios comes with JKs. the VLX come with bridgestones. of course, you can request for the bridgys in SLE too.

You mean the hawk engine, don't you?

I've seen VLXs with JKs too, though. I suppose it would be because the dealer did a quiet swap with a SLE bought by a favoured customer?

Yes, I meant the m-Hawk engine, what you have mentioned is quite possible. I would always prefer VLX+Bridgestone combo, even if you have plans for exchanging your tires.
