Re: Flipkart starts selling Tyres

Good to have bumped on this thread. For all automobile products that I recently checked on Amazon (specially oils), the seller name appeared to be from the company directly. For eg., Shell and Petronas products had a link to Shell's Amazon page or something similar.

Last year, I changed to Michelin XM2 at a price of 20,000k approx from Reliance store in parking at Ambience Mall, Gurgaon. As I check now, the same set of 4 tyres are available on Amazon at 18k!!

On a similar note, Shell's synthetic oil is available at the bunks at a price higher than what you will find online!

Looks like, what happened to books is on the anvil for automobile products. We are not sure about the resistance that could from traditional channel members but it's best to take advantage of all the discounts available online.

Re: Flipkart starts selling Tyres

Tried adding 4 tyres to a cart - got a message that Orders are limited to 1 per customer.

I wonder who is their target market - Unicyclists?

Re: Flipkart starts selling Tyres

Question about buying tyres online - Do they deliver it to you, and then you have to carry it to the installer, or do they coordinate with the install location, and you can go there for picking them up?

Flipkart ships the tires to you, and you can then pick a fitment centre of your choice. They state that:
Quote:
Installation Details:
Installation will be carried out by our service partner AXA
Installation process will commence post 24 hours of request being logged
TAT for installation is 72 hours
The appointment for fitment would be at a time convenient for you
The location of the fitment center will be allotted based on your preference
The charges at the fitment center would be as per the rate card plus VAT

Terms & Conditions:
Paid Installations services are subject to pin code serviceability
The rate card on the product page is exclusive of VAT
Any additional consumables required at the fitment center will be charged separately
These rates prescribed in Rate Card are applicable for passenger vehicles only
The Service Provider reserves the right of rejection of any request made by any customer in case of any internal matters
In case of complexity of fitment, the Service Provider can arrange for fitment done at local service provider's location
On the other hand, sites like ChangeMyTyre gives you a choice of either shipping it to you, or to a fitment centre.
