Baleno Wheel thread
(
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/tyre-alloy-wheel-section/17123-baleno-wheel-thread-12.html)
Mohit with 205/50/R15 the tyres scrape the mud flaps. So do your research and I think the Baleno can take 16 inchers , but the mud flap scrapping will be a persistent issue.
Another way around is installing spacers if it scrapes the wheel arches which I dont think will happen with 16 inchers.
205/50R15 theoretically should not scrape the mudgaurd because OD is less than stock (589mm). It may scrape you inner wheel well when you take turns. Or it may scrape the rear outer wheel well if car is fully loaded.
16 inchers look so tempting. Has anybody on the forum done it?
i have helped my dear friend install 16" on the baleno.
running 205/45/16 bridgestone my-01 performance tires got from south africa.
no modifications to the suspension set up at all for the past 6 months

You did not face any issues because that the correct upsize for 16 inchers.
I wanna put 205/50 which increases the OD to around 612 mm. and I have seen it done but not sure if they modded the suspension.
Hi tyre_experts,
Is 195/65R14 a good upsize for baleno?
I currently have 185/65R14 and the car scrapes some speed-breakers with 4/5 people and luggage.( that is the only issue with the car though and love it for everything else :))
I know it is not the "right" upsize, but my primary concern is the scraping and was wondering if the additional height this profile gives will help. The speedo/odo error comes to 2.1%. Will this size cause issues with the wheel wells when fully loaded?
Also any idea about which brands offer this size?
Why doing you go in for some suspension work if you are always carrying 4 to 5 guys in the car. A lil stiffeninin will help you see through most of your worries.

All Balenos have the same issue of scraping the speed breakers so its best to live with it and enjoy the other pleasures the car gives u.
About your upsize plan
1. I doubt if u'll find any good set of tyre in 195/65-14. Most of the good tyres come in 195/60-14.
2. 195/65-14 tyres will only increase the ground clearance by 6mm. Do u think its sufficient to avoid the speed breakers, I dont.
3. The only solution seems to be the stiffening of suspension, but i dont know how/ where it can be done. May be gurus here can help u with it.
Cheers
195/65 R14 may be available in GIII for around 3700/=
Can a 14 inch PCD 100 will fit in baleno without any modification. if so what is best tyre to go with, obviously tubelss. thinking of changing to broader low profile ones. by the way what does this PCD means and how useful to know info about that. please educate me
14 inch PCD 100 will fit baleno. for an alloy to fit baleno its PCD should be 100.
195/60 R14 is a very popular upgrade for the baleno.
I always felt the Baleno LXi I had was very low, the bottom touching big speed-bumps on the road with the stock steel 13" & Bridgestone 165/80 R13 tyres.
Hence bought the 14" 5.5j VXi model alloy wheels, fitted Apollo Accelere 185/65 R14(good value for money) filled with Nitrogen gas
Result - Brigdestone very noisy, soggy ride, wavery on curves, noisy
Apollo (filled Nitrogen) - feels lighter inspite of broader rubber, comfy, good handling & stopping, car feels planted on the road.
I opted for 185/65 R14 for higher ground clearance since 195/60 R14 lowers (take radius calculation = dia/2) the car 2mm than stock 165/80 R13 as per this calculation. Whereas 185/65 raises the ground clearance by 1 mm
Tyre code Diameter Circumference Difference
---------- -------- ------------- ----------
13 INCH
165/80 R13 594mm 1866mm 0%
14 INCH
185/65 R14 596mm 1872mm 0.32%
195/60 R14 590mm 1854mm -0.77%

Ok so any takers? Apollo sure is good and those of who you on a budget pick up the Acelere's. I can vouch for those tyres :) .

Another thing is that these tyres looks good, I never expected any Apollo tyres to be so appealing
