You might end up with problems with ur tires scraping the body especially on jumps with a higher profile tyre than the right upsize profile. id suggest u wait till the right size is available.

I am buying a new set of alloys. The present vtec tyres are 175-65-r14 with dia 583mm.

The one i am upsizing is 195-60-r14 with dia 590mm.The increase in dia is 1.2% or 7mm.Is it ok.Thanks in advance.

Hey neo,

195/60R14 is absolutely fine for the old city vtec!

There is barely a 5-7mm difference in diameter, which works out to 2-4mm difference in radius.
So think about it... 2-4mm... thats nothing, tirepressure or new/old tread on a tire could make more of a difference!

Go ahead and post some pics when ur done.
cheers
R

check out my review of the NCT 5 on a Vtec under reviews. No point in getting F1's considering our roads. Just came back from a gruelling trip around rural Tamil Nadu. Car held up well but I ripped a sidewall well forced into a pothole. Car was totally controllable when being brought to a stop.

205 is a no no, i've seen Honda Citys with those tyres and they do touch when the steering is turned from lock to lock.

besides, 195s are more than enuf to to handle the city's power.

Oh yeah that's what im interested in. Can the stock suspenssion be stiffened? Can you make the Vtec forget what body roll is?? I'd love that on my car.

neo,
205/55r14 will be the ideal upsize for ur present tires.the od =581.09998.so there will be a negligible diff.
but u have to check if 205 will fit without any mods.i have seen old vtecs with 2o5 tires .still u might have to check.
and check the rim size at

guys -

does 195-60-R14 - hold good for upsizing in 1.3 OHC too ?

Have the bridgestone s322 stock tyres on my friends' OHC - 1.3 exi - Type II - 2002 may model. It has run 28k km.

How much is the stock tyre life usually for OHC - 1.3 - 2002 model. For 28k km on Odo, it seems half balded - i hope should run another - 10 k km. IS this right.

Riders are excellent and mild drivers, not at all abused - been single handed for most part - i mean its family car -

appreciate your inputs.

195-60R14 is ok for the ohc 1.3 as well.

as for your old S322's, they will easily last for another 15-20k Kms. My stock lasted for 81K.

chrome door beeding not on 1.3 OHC stock

thx toiingg.

Would add one more query here -

Had seen the chrome door beeding only on 1.5 Exi's and Vtec - is this correct.

Are these not available on stock OHC (Type II - 1.3 exi's and 1.3 dx) -

or can these be retrofited on 1.3 Exi OHC. Its rubber door beeding on stock.

really enhances the look I say..!
