Would tyres lose traction more easily on a slightly damp bit of road (not even wet) or on an absolutely dry road ?

Figure that out and you'll have the answer.

Please research on the web you will get to know what hydroplanning is and you will understand that the chances of hydroplanning happening in this situation is almost nil.

Advancement in tyre technology to see that they run at optimum temperature and do not overheat would be a better option than spraying water on the tyre.

I feel Mercedes going a step back in technology with this set up.
