Mine doesn't have Enkei branding. Maybe they have multiple suppliers.

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

I am trying to change my ZX AT tyres to 215/60/17 Bridgestone Duelers. This is +2.6% from the 16-inchers that V/G come with and +0.7% from the 215/65/16 that shankar has upgraded to in his innova.

I wanted to know if this is OK, I am concerned with the sidewall issue with the current 17" but do not want to put lot of money in changing the alloys at this point in time.

Please let me know.

Thx

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Hello fellow bhpians, I have done 33000 kms on my stock 17" alloys. The size is 215/55/17. I am very disappointed with the performance on the stock tyres as the ability to tackle bad roads is very less with these tyres.

Now I have made my mind to change my tyres, but i dont have the right size to which I should I upgrade to.

A little help here would be much appreciated with regards to the perfect upgrade size & the brand I should be going for. My only requirement is Comfort.

I believe 225/55 is the one to go for. I always felt the Michellin's and Pirelli have softer sidewall whereas Bridgestone/Yokohama have slightly more stronger walls. The MRF's/Ceat's are way too hard.
If you are looking for comfort, 16 inchers is what you should pick. 215/65 R16 should be the best in business here.

No you cannot. You will have to change the alloys. You can check online or tire shops, there are quite a lot of them available(used ones).

No don't want to change the alloys, I assume if I get a correct tyre size then there will be a little comfort added to existing ride quality.

If you do not wan't to change the alloys, as I mentioned earlier 225/55 R17 is the one to go for. This size will offer slightly taller side wall, hence better comfort as well as handling.

Crysta's 17" wheels are Enkei made and the 16" wheels did not have Enkei branding on it. I couldn't find any recognisable branding on it however it carried ICM and AXG, i don't know if this relates to any manufacturer.

Primacy SUV still have almost 50% tread life left in them. Odo now reads 28xxxKM.

Too bad i didn't see your post in time, but anyways i saw that you have updated in official review thread after upgrading to Primacy SUV. Good choice of tyres!
Hi Sankar,
How much did the swap from 16 in to 17 in wheels cost including and excluding the tyres.I am taking delivery of Gx automatic in November and planning to swap alloys and tyres at the same time.
Since you have used 16 and 17 in both which ones do you recommend.
I find the car much better looking with 17 in but i have no idea about performance.
Thanks.

Re: Toyota Innova Crysta : Official Review

I find the stock 205/65/16 tyres on my 2.8 ZX rather skinny for the power/size of this vehicle. Has anyone upsized the 2.8 ZX tyres without causing any issues with the ESP/Traction Control?

I have seen a ZX being delivered with 235 section tire right out of showroom. Don't know how they perform or their implications. Sankar in our Forum had 215 section tyre on his 2.8GX and has had very positive feedback.

Upgrade to 225/60 size and you should be sorted.

Hi Sankar, which version is your Crysta? Is it the 2.8 Z with the ESP/Traction Control? I would like to go for the 215/65/16 (Duster Size) or 225/60/16 Tyres, but am concerned if the added OD of the tyre will have any issues with the ESP .

It is a GX and does not have VSC. 225/60/16 is the closest size to 205/65/16 if yours is the 16 inched ZX. There are some ZX Crystas in our group running on wider than 225 tyres on 17inch rims with no VSC errors.

I was not on the forum for a while so couldn't have replied earlier.
