Yokohama has launched the Geolandar A/T in it's 20th avatar. Now renamed as the G015 ( the previous model was G012). Some new sizes have been added too.

My favourite A/T tyre (along with the Michelins). In case it helps someone, here's a link with some ownership reviews - TireRack.com.

@ Wasava: How come nothing in 225 mm? Isn't that an oversight?

They earlier had 225/65/R17 in HT and AT patterns, which have both been discontinued owing to low sales figures I presume. We may see G015 being offered in 225 size sometime later.

@WT, What's the word about the side-walls in this version ?

What size would fit in the Suzuki GV other than the stock? 235/65/16 or the 235/70/16? What are the prices for these? Are they a better option than the Goodyear Wrangler AT ?

Too early to say anything. Give it a year or two.

I have got these for my Pajero 2.8 about a month back in the stock 265/70 R15 size. I had Michelin Lattitude cross earlier that lasted around 50k and started tracking badly. So far all I can say is that I have much more grip especially on wet roads and the braking has improved a lot. The steering is more accurate as well. Michelin were always wandering while these stick true their line.

Nikhil - heard that the sidewall is improved in the G015. Is it correct ?
@Traveller, how are the tyres doing ? I am in the same track - currently on Latitude Cross, with left pulling issue. Tyres have done 66k and still some life left. Tread is there, but one tyre now has cracks and is not holding pressure well.

So far the tyres have been excellent. I have driven almost 10k since I got them and they are performing well. Braking and overall grip is better than the Lattitude Cross I had earlier. Plus the car does not wander on the road which it used to do on the Michelin's.

Guys, what is your take on this type of damage ? I think this is not due to impact / damage due to sharp object (This is recent, and I know my driving + the roads I drive on). Please check the end of the fissure to the right, where it is finer. There are multiple lines there.



Do you think this qualifies for a warranty ? A little over 2 years now, 25k, and has about 5 mm tread.

Tough one to answer since damage due to impact is always a grey area. But those cuts on the thread are too large to ignore, esp if you take it on highways and speeds. Tyre boys please help.

Looks like you scraped a kerb. Or perhaps spun it against a concrete divider. Tell tale scuff marks. Since you mentioned over 2 years old - tough luck.
Just for information of fellow forum members, all Geolandar's having serial numbers from 0119 ( January 2019) onwards are eligible for unconditional warranty. 2 years / 50% tread life left - whichever is earlier.
Not only Geolandar, it is offered across all sizes and patterns upto 17" sizes.

Thanks, @WasavaTyres. No scraping against hard surfaces - kerb or divider. The ones you see are due to chunks of dried mud (chunks that form after the soil is dug). That scuff mark is only on that one side rib, and not across the fissure. Or above of below that section.

IMO, if this damage was due to pressure/impact at the scuff point, the fissure should have started there. Also, scuff marks when brushing against hard /concrete surfaces would have been different corresponding to the rotation of the tyre. (You can imagine a rotating tyre brushing against something)

Warranty claim it is , but please check other tires as well.

Here is what happened to my JK after it had run 3 years and ~40K. based on thread depth I had to pay around 40% of the cost IIRC, replaced all 4.

Thanks, Kosfactor. But @WasavaTyres is a "tyre-man". He himself says difficult. Unless dealer + company person are in a good, willing mood - it may not not happen.
