Went for Stock 205/60R16. Got them for 7,700 each. Added Triton gold valve at 150 each.

Re: Review: MRF Perfinza Tyres

Recently got Perfinzas for my Polo, went with 195/60 R15, 1 size up in width. Paid 5600rs for each tyre. Now waiting for a highway trip to experience them properly.

You'll find the steering to be extremely light in the first 2k kms. It weighs up very nicely post 5k kms.

Please note that the difference in your diameter will also give you a feel that for a given indicated speed on the speedometer, the car will seem to go much faster than before.

Hope you enjoy the trip. Can't believe you got that price! That's just 200 more than what I got in 2019. Impressive.

Re: Review: MRF Perfinza Tyres

Installed MRF Perfinza 205/60/R16 for my S-Cross 1.6. I was considering Apollo Alnac/Apterra Cross or Perfinza based on personal experience and good feedback from Team-BHP for Perfinza. Reached out to a couple of exclusive MRF dealers in my city to inquire about availability and price for 205/60/R16 Perfinza.

I live in Tier 2 city so dealers might not have Perfinza in stock but even after a couple of visits to dealers, none of the MRF exclusive dealers came back with information on availability and price. On contrary, Apollo dealers were quick to respond and confirm the availability of Alnac and Aptera Cross for 6900 per tyre inclusive of GST.

Decided to go with MRF Perfinza so reached out to a popular multi-brand tyre dealer over the phone, and within 5 minutes got the response about availability & price. Got freshly baked - 40/22 tyre for 7100.

Review: MRF Perfinza Tyres-20221219_130502.jpg

My initial observation after 500 KM of drive

Ride Quality : Supple, ride is softer & matured when compared to Bridgestone and Conti UC 6
Steering Feel: Feels light in the city and has perfect heft on highways. If I get the same feel throughout the tyre lifetime, I will be more than happy
Noise: It’s quiet, up to 90 KMPH not much noise, during highway drives, generates muted noise but well within an acceptable range
Handling: Haven’t pushed the car so will reserve the judgement on handling for now

Overall, I’m happy with the performance of Perfina. One interesting feel/observation is it masks the speed well. I usually drive between 60 – 70 KMPH speed on state highways and 90 – 110 KMPH on National highways. Now 10 KMPH is added to my usual speed before realizing at what speed I’m driving. Need to consciously keep a look on ODO for monitoring speed. It somehow remains me of my Acura days, a solid, hunkered-down feel while driving on highways .

I will update the thread after riding 5K kilometers on the tyres.

Sorry to hijack this thread. I was thinking of upgrading my Swift 2019 model tyres from a stock 185 65 R15 to the MRF Zsport 205 55 R15. Will these cause any issue like rubbing against the fenders under heavy load or any issue with the car's suspension etc.
Also will it need a rim change?

My current tyres are 4 year old stock Apollo Alnac with the above mentioned size. Primary reasons to change to upsize is for the looks of the MRF Zsport and for better braking/stability. However much as I like the looks of the tyres I do not want to compromise on the reliability of the car's components. As per online tyre sellers the Zsport is also available in 195 60 R15 as a second choice with the same pattern but it is not mentioned on MRF's web site. What is your suggestion? I am not really concerned with tyre noise.

Thanks in advance.

Hi. The recommended rim size for 205/55R16 is 6.5"x15 while your stock rims woulf be 5.5"x15. This is not a large difference (1 inch in width) and the tyres can still be fitted on your stock rims comfortably by a good technician. However, what you must keep in mind is:-
  • Loss of ground clearance 205/55R15s would reduce your ground clearance by about 7mm which I would not recommend
  • Appearance As a result of fitting the tyres on a narrower rim, you will not really achieve the look of "wider" tyres. They will look to be the same width as the stock 185s

Best to go for the 195/60R15s in my opinion.

Re: Review: MRF Perfinza Tyres

My Linea t-jet has been on these tyres for a year now and the rear two tyres are almost gone. Would have run for 25k KMs or so.

Bad tyre noise and ride has become harsh now.

Guess i might get Conti UC6 next.

Re: Review: MRF Perfinza Tyres

First time I am seeing a print ad for MRF Perfinza. Today’s Sunday Times. This segment of performance tyres is a good one that they can occupy considering that it is so hard to get imported Michelins etc in rim sizes below 18 inches.

Re: Review: MRF Perfinza Tyres

Changed all 4 tires for my S-Cross at 60,000 km mark. Out goes the Apollo tires. Got the MRF Perfinzas of 205/60 R16 from Fathima Tyres, Coimbatore. Got 4 tires for Rs. 7200 each (all inclusive). 2 of the tires were manufactured 1 month before and the remaining 2 were 1.5 months old. Offered Rs. 200 total for the old tires. The old tires were in poor condition.

Michelins were offered for Rs. 10900 per tire. I personally found them to be too pricey. So decided to go with the MRFs.

The tires are super silent, has a very nice tread depth and offers good grip levels. One issue was I found the tires to be a bit bouncy. Checked the tire pressure too and was as per recommendations. I hope the bounciness would settle in after the tire run-in period. Overall, a good buy in the absence of Michelins.

I have checked this with Mohsin of Madhu’s as well and he echoes this opinion.
Hello Shankar,
Thanks for this feedback. As per your opinion from my other post, I checked with Madhu's for Tubeless 225/40/R18 and 255/35/R18 in Michellin PS4 or Perfinza. I got a quote for PS4's which was 25k higher(all 4 tyres included) than online prices from tyremarket and tyresnmore, citing import shortage reasons. I have asked them for Perfinza quote too, but yet to get a reply from them.

I called MRF Sapthagiri tyres in Chamarajpet and gave them my requirement. Yet to hear from them too.

Do you know anyone from MRF dealerships who can source it for me.

Thanks.

Madhu’s Mohsin will be able to help I think.
Tyre Empire does not work with MRF for some reason.
Sapthagiri MRF are good chaps.
Try the HSR chap. Grand tyres.
Card attached.
Also try calling the owner Srikanth.

Hello. Perfinza does not come in both the 255/35R18 and 225/40R18 sizes. The closest size on which they come is the 245/40R18. You can consider switching to 245/40R18 size on all 4 wheels instead of a staggered setup that you are on now. The difference in diameter for 245/40R18s is less than 3% compared to both the sizes (with 245/40s being taller). You might want to consider Vredesteins as well at a similar price point to the Perfinzas.
