I recently had to change my tyres in my 2016 Octavia which had Michelin Primacy 3ST tyres that had run almost 55k km and still had good tread left. But, had to replace as it was more than 6 years old now and had developed some cracks on the surface. I searched a lot for Michelin Tyres but could not get them. Eventually, I had to go for another brand and got Bridgestone Sturdo Tyres in the stock size(205/55/16). I am extremely happy with the ride and handling and also the road noise with these tyres. I have almost covered 7000km on the new tyres. The tyres also come with unconditional warranty.
So, if you are not able to procure Michelins, you may try Bridgestone Sturdo also. I will recommend it over Yokohama or any other tyre because of unconditional warranty and better service in case of any issues.

Hi, did you change wheel rims also? Or 235 section tyres were fitted on stock wheel rim?

My stock wheel rim size is 6.5J and stock tyres are 215/60/r17. I was told that fitment of 235/55/r17 tyres will not be possible on stock wheel rim. At least 7.5j rim width will be required for 235/55/r17 .

Can you please share your experience on wheel rim width.

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

Does anyone know if Michelin P4STs in 195/55/R16 size are available? Has anyone spotted them/bought them in stores lately?

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

Michelin has apparently been able to restart import of 16-inch tyres. A few days back I switched my tyres to Primacy 4ST (December 2023 manufactured). For the size 205/60 R16 I paid Rs. 9000/- per tyre.

That's good news. Last time I paid 6800/each for the same size.

Hopefully Primacy 4+ arrives next time I swap the existing 4s.

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

The Michelin Primacy 4 ST’s are available next week at Madhu’s in Bangalore they said. And will cost about 13500 per tyre for 215/55/17 size. I also checked on Pilot Sports 4, 205/55/16 and those will cost 13500 odd too per tyre.
Prices seem to have gone up by 30% since 2020.

Indeed, the prices have increased significantly. But I am still happy to pay the premium to get hold of these tyres, especially after several months of waiting!

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

I have posted on various thread about Conti UC6 vs Yokohama BlueEarth. Votes are divided.

Today got call from the tyre dealer here in Noida and he said Michelin is now available and quoted me 8700 per tyre in the size 195/55/R16 for my Honda City. As we spoke about Primacy 4ST sometime back so I assume it is the same tyre he is talking about.

Now, can someone tell me if this tyre is better than Conti UC6. I mean in terms of softness and handling potholes without getting a cut.

UC6 has 2 ply sidewall. Don't know about Michelin and whether it matters at all.

See... my question has now changed from Yokohama vs Conti to Michelin vs Conti.

Re: The Michelin Primacy 4, now available in India

I went ahead and got the Michelin Primacy 4 ST today. Made in Thailand, 195/55/R16 and manufacture date of mid Dec 2023 (5023).

Got these from Sunny Auto Care in Noida. The owner Mr. Prashant told there is no 2 year warranty given by Michelin like it is done by Yoko or Conti. But he said wherever possible they will try to help on goodwill basis.

Apart from tyres cost I had to pay for weights. Alignment and balancing was free.

My old tyres of 185/55/R16 were in bad shape except one tyre that was a spare and was used only for 5000 km. He was kind enough to give me a used Hankook tyre 195/55/R16 as spare for emergency. That saved me a few bucks for now until I plan to buy a better spare in coming weeks.

Can't tell much of a difference as I drove just from tyre shop to home but one difference I never thought I would feel was the height even if it was very slight.

Hi, Michelin P4ST are now available in India. I got one changed in 1st week of March for my polo GT. There was an interruption in supply due to ban on imports, however the the Michelin Tyres import is now going to be continuous and hence users should not face an issue.

Presently I am running on a set of P4ST(195/55/R16) which are 43000 km old and with about more juice left for 10-15000 km. So far I had an awesome experience. The Tyres have been through the Spiti circuit without any issues. Had to change only one tyre due to wall cut which was actually deep and couldn't see it in rain while travelling at night. It my opinion, P4STs have taken a lot of abuses without issues and are very strong.
