Tyre & Alloys Query for my Skoda

Hi TBhpians,
I Know there are many similar post but none quite the same.
I have a Skoda 1.8Turbo Petrol with stock rims size:6jx15 with GoodYear NCT5's size: 195/65/r15 All stock.
NOw 2 of my tyres are due to be replaced but I was thinking of getting all changed instead of getting 2 new NCT 5's again.
I want to go in for a wider tyre without changing my rims.
I like performance, but I dont want to lower the sidewall too much than what it already is as far as I know this has stiffer suspensions already.
PLease advice on a tyre size.
Thank you....

Hello Nanu.
My Octy 1.9TDi had 205/60R15s. They didn't give me any trouble at all. Don't know about the 215/60s though. Should not pose a problem. Why not try 225/55R16s on your car? My 1.8Tpi has the same and as the saying goes, "I'm loving it!!". Kolkata roads are not smooth at all.

Hi I dont want to try the 225/55R16 as I dont want to change all my Rims yet, as I'll have to go for after market ones which I am not to sure about (Aura etc)..dont want Oz etc as they are too expensive and the regular skoda ones are about 40k+ thats why..Iwant to remain on stock rims...
thanks anyway...
I think then YOKOHAMA 215/60R15 with a Speed rating of V is fine...?
I also liked the bridgestone G3 but they are Speed Rated H.
Any help...I want to stay away form H speed rated as I do go about 200+ on my Bombay-Pune weekends...
....any advice...

Nanu - here are the sizes you mentioned alongwith the difference in OD:

195/65 R15 - 317.25
205/60 R15 - 313.50 (-1.18% difference)
215/60 R15 - 319.50 (0.71% difference)
225/55 R16 - 314.25 (-0.95% difference)

Could you also tell me what is width of the steel rim fitted on your car? This will also matter while upgrading the tyres. Out of the above mentioned I would recommend 215/60 R15 provided the rim width is atleast 6J.

And which Yoko's are you looking at? Also with the capabilites of your car I would recommend you look only at V-rated treads since H is rated only upto 210 kmph.

I got Rs. 1300 for 185/65 R14 NCT5's. Tyres had run 12K kms, 1 year old and were in very good condition as per the dealer. He was quoting new NCT5s@2750.

Hi Guys,
thought it would be better to get this thread back up, instead of posting a newer one..
I ahvent gotten it done till now and was going to upgrade it this weekend. But I ran into a small problem: The tire size I had chosen was 215/60R15 for the stock 15x6J rims. But this size is not available in Yokohama AVS Sport. The tire from Yokohama similar to this size and Rated 'V' atleast (This is very important, as I do cross 200Kmph nearly every weekend.) is Yokohama ES100 Can someone tell me how good this tire is...?
Or do you guys know of any other option that I have...?

PS: For the future: I would like to upgrade to 16in. Stock vRS rims, which I really like, if someone is selling a set of these please PM me, then maybe I can get the AVS sport itself. Thanks a lot.

As the heading says I am looking for vRS stock Alloys and a OEM spoiler.
Thanks..
