I had got 2020 Front and 2019 Back, Metz M7RR, for my Z900, from Torque Block Bangalore, on Dec 2020.

Keep checking with them, usually they have stock. Good buying experience, they shipped directly to the workshop and I got it fitted there.

Great tyres too could feel the difference.

I am looking for all terrain 285/60/R18 to be fitted onto Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited 2021.

Can anyone please suggest a dealer contact for BF Goodrich or Yokohama? With the current stock unavailability owing to Import restrictions there is zero stock wherever I have checked around town.

Also any one has reviews on AT Acceiera brand ? I believe this is an Indonesian brand.

Guys, what’s the current scene on the tire ban imposed by DGFT? Are the imports still banned?

Imports have resumed since Apr'21. Michelin and other brands have got sufficient stock into the country after a huge backlog.
However, it's unclear on what conditions its being allowed.

This is my first post here, having onboarded recently after years of browsing without the ability to post.

I’m looking for 205/55/R16 tyres. Current ones are Michelin Primacy 3 ST, doing duty since 2014 and have run 75,000 km.

Continental UC6 are available on Amazon at about 7500 a piece from Online Tyre World. AmazonPay ICICI credit card will get me 5% back. Total = 30,000 -5% = 28,500.

Continental UC6 at dealer is quoted at 8600 a piece.

Michelin Primacy 4 ST are unavailable on Amazon at the moment. Price quoted by dealer is 10,200 a piece with 2% on top of paid for via cards. Total = 40,800 +2%.

Difference between Continental and Michelin becomes 41,616 - 28500 = 13,116.

Not a lot of difference considering that Michelin lasted me 75,000 km and 7 years. It’s only due to shoulder cracks that I am replacing them. Tread is still very much there and wear is absolutely even.

1. What do you suggest be done? Is Michelin Primacy 4 ST that much better than Continental UltraContact UC6 to pay that difference?

Both are available in stock today. Don’t know about Michelin stock later in case of warranty claims. I don’t mind paying the price difference, I only don’t want to pay it in an unwarranted manner.

2. Also, what’s the warranty on Continental UC6 like? How many years?

Due to the tyre supply issues with Michelin, I'm being offered Feb 2019 made XM2 for my upsized Alto K10 that's on 165/65 R13. This is a rare size used only by the old Tata Indica. Am I better off saving 500 bucks a tyre and going with Continental CC5 Yokohama Earth 1? I love the quiet and soft ride offered by the XM2 ��

There are select dealers that do have Michelins in stock since April 2021. 2.5 year old tyres are a no-go.

This is by far one of the most shortsighted decisions by any Government. The Indian tyre lobby must have really "worked the government" to pass this unfair edict.

It is now nearly impossible to source good tyres ..let me rephrase.. its nearly impossible to source tyres that one wants.

I plan to upgrade the tyres on the 2021 Gurkha as soon as I take delivery. I do not want Ceat Czar or Apollo Apterra AT2. Should I not have that choice?

I want BFG KO2 or even Maxxis AT980 in the size 245/75/16 but thanks to the myopic tyre restrictions that have been imposed it has been an entirely fruitless and frustrating excercise. :Frustrati

People all over the world can walk into a tyre shop and pick out whatever tyre size and make they want almost effortlessly but we Indians ofcourse do not deserve such simple pleasures.

All just to protect local tyre manufacturers who have now got no competition and are happily raising prices or advertising tyre sizes that they dont make easily available.

Apollo for instance says on their website that they have a 245/75/16 Apterra AT2 but I have asked almost every dealer I can in Delhi and they say it is not available.
They in turn asked me to download the Apollo App and try my luck there :Frustrati

Thanks to the gatekeepers for approving my entry into the forums.

I've been looking for a 180 section rear tire from Pirelli for a while now and since Aug 2021, it has been a case of "coming next week" or "coming next month" :Shockked:
Both, the service centres and dealers have the same story to tell. Even offering to pay something to book has not been possible. It's going to be odd to have Ceat, Apollo or MRF now make these sizes or if people will even opt for them, given the current situation.

I did see a seller on Amazon selling a rear tire and the cost was more than fitting a new set on the front and rear, with labor charges and that was around 18 months back. :crying

Any leads for 200/55R17 and 170/45R17 motorcycle tyres? Struggling to find this set for my Fat Boy :(

200/55R17 is available with Madhus Bangalore.



170/45R17 - is this the right size you've mentioned in your post? Couple of people are saying it's the wrong size and it must be 140/75R17 ?

i've PM ed the contact number of the manager at Madhus. You can speak to him. They can ship it to Pune if needed.

Managed to get a Metzeller Sportec for rear. Still, looking for front 140/75 r17. Has anyone imported tire online via ubuy.Co.in. How was the experience?

Quoting self as I have a doubt in my mind. Sportec M9 RR from Metzeller is designed for “super sport” bikes. How will it fare on a low slung, long wheelbase heavy cruiser like Harley Fat Boy? The load index and speed ratings match or exceed Harley specification and dimensions are exact fit. Other than rapid wear out (softer and grippy rubber) any other issues I can face?

I am yet to load this tire on the rear wheel, so far, have the experience of only Harley Co-branded Michelin Scorchers and factory fitted Dunlops on my Fat boy.
