Is it mandatory to have the wheels aligned after we replace all the 4 tyres with new ones.
NOTE: I am not talking about wheel balancing.

Reason: I was negotiating with few people about buying new tyres and some dealers say its mandatory to have it done, while others say it is not required. And as expected, the ones who say its mandatory to have wheel aligned are the ones who have those infrastructure. I had wheel alignment done just couple of weeks back when i gave the car for servicing.

while it may not be mandatory, a wheel alignment is definitely necessary (recommended, if you may), after changing over to a new set of tyres - all around.

While alignment is not mandatory (as in under law, Lol) but its better to get it done. However a balancing is definitely must.

If you change tyres on a new car then alignment is not necessary.. But if its a old car then its advisable.. and better for your new tyres.. Else one tyre might just wear more and faster than u can think..

the way i see it - would you rather spend a few hundred rupees on wheel alignment or a few thousands on replacements for faster-worn-out-new-tyres? :)

you're getting a new set of tyres, you have to get them balanced might as well get the allignment checked too.
10 min job.150 rupees.same location.get on with it.

To avoid uneven tread wearing wheel alignment is recommended after new tyres are mounted on the rims. However they do not cost much. Usually done along with the wheel balancing.

Is it only tyres or does it also includes new rims/alloys? If its only the first, then I dont see how wheel alignment will benefit.

well... it may not be mandatory in all cases... but its a definite requirement in cars with a week or troublesome suspension!!
Generally speaking, I think its always good doing an alignment check before you put brand new set of tyres on any old car! This is only for the benefit of long life of those new tyres. In that sense, I think that money spent wud be worth it!

It's always better to do the alignment after getting the new tyres.. And they don't charge extra for balancing(atleast that's what the deal I got when I changed all my tyres)
