Tubeless tyre for Santro

I want to change the tube tyre to a tubeless tyre in my 6 months old Santro. I don't want F.E. to come down. Which is the best brand available and what is the approximate price? do I need to switch to alloy wheels or the present wheel is compatible with tubeless tyre?

You can switch over to Michelin's, I am running my Alto on it and it is just 250km old, absolutely no noise and great handling...

As far as the correct upsize, I suggest some experts (like Samurai, rks) can provide u with details on it...

Since u r changing tyres I suggest u upsize and change to Alloys... Alloys with Tubeless works the bet....still, in steel rims tubeless tyres will be fine too....

PM Samurai, he can help u with the correct upsize for Santro Xing...

My 155/65R13 Michelin costed Rs 2175 / tyre

and Aura 13"(C9350, 5 wheels) = 13950 (bought it from distributor and now the rates have changed from 1st May)...i think u can get about 15K to 15.5K from the dealer...

I think the best upgarde will be 165/60/R13... And my preference will be Bridgestone Potenzas. Cost of alloys - Approx 13,000 for a set of 5 and Rs.2,400 to 2,600 per tyre.

Abhilash thats a wrong upsize for a Santro...
Correct upsizes for a Santro are
155/70-13 -Stock Size
165/65-13
175/60-13

Sure its 165/ 60 R13????

Santro has original 155/70 R13... Shouldn't it be 165/65 R13???

EDIT: I see kpzen has made it clear just now... Tyres- my bet is michelin energy xm1

I have used potenza g3's of size 165/60/r13 on a Santro which i later learned is a wrong upsize.. great handling but pretty harsh ride.. i would NOT suggest.. i think 165/65/r13 would be the best all rounder.. as far as alloys are concerned, my first set of tybe less tyres was on the original steel rims, didnt have much trouble in the begining, but eventually when rim started rusting tyre pressure dropped quite often.. i dont know if this was just in my case or its normal..i guess the original rims bend also easily if they take a hit, that also maybe causes leakage of air since there is no tybe in the tyre.. alloys would be stronger.. correct me if i'm wrong guys..

Been running 165/65/13 Goodyear Eagle GA Plus on Aura alloys for the last 2 years. No complaints - handles very well at high speeds, feels much, much more stable than stock tyres & rims.

See my Photo Gallery for pics, prices etc.

Like many have said, 165/65/R13 would be the correct upsize for you... but if you need that extra grip then you can go for 175/60/R13...

By the way, i have 175/60/R13 Bridgestone Potenza GIII's on stock rims and i like their performance.....

According to your suggestions, I'll go for 165/65/R13. After 2-3 months I'll switch to alloy wheels.
