Hi Guys,

I am getting my Ikon new set of Neo alloy wheels Silver machine finisehd model Dozen 12 spoke.

Pls. share your suggestions as i get the alloys fitted , mean points to check on:

Wheel alingment, Balancing how important are these two?

I liked designs from League,Neo, Plati & HR. However, considering that Neo offers peace of mind with exact PCD and specific to indian cars I have decided to go with Neo.

The 12 spoke is classy & Elegant.

Pls. revert with your thoughts.

Thanks,

even hr, plati and lenso offer the exact pcds. and they have way better designs than neo. what size are you getting? i suggest you look at plati and hr again. for hr look at Alloy Wheels,Car Alloy Wheels,Automotive Wheels,Chrome Alloy Wheels India . get your wheels balanced before fitting then onto the car.

Changed to Yoko ES100s 195/60/R14

Right! Finally managed to change my Aveo 1.4's stock 185/60/R14 Goodyears to Yokohama ES100 195/60s while retaining the 5.5J stock steel rims.

Many many thanks to kpze, v1p3r and anyone else I have pestered over the last few weeks and to my wife for letting me stay at home .

The Yokos were Rs. 3,300 each. Got a reasonably good deal on my Goodyears which was a concern for me given that I had already run 1200km on them. Exchanged them at Sai Iyengar Tyres (CMH Road, Bangalore) for Rs. 1,500 each and thus paid a net total of Rs. 7,200 for 4 tyres.

Service was good with old tyres taken off, new tyres fitted, balanced and refitted and me still back in office in 75 minutes flat :-).

Immediate changes noted are a much more stable planted feel, significantly reduced body-roll and a tautness about the car that was severely lacking in this competitor to the Ford Fiesta.

Cons noted is a feeling that the steering has got a bit harder especially while parking etc but this may be my imagination.

I was actively considering 205s but dropped the idea when I realised that my warranty may get affected, FE may unduly suffer, fouling of wheels with wheelarches etc, my budget would have to be around Rs. 4,200 each and the 5.5J rim were borderline for such a wide tyre.

Will update with any noteworthy happenings and also pictures (NOW ADDED).

Upsize for Aveo

Hello,

I am planning for an upsize of my Aveo wheels. After reading through many threads I have arrived at the following:

Upsize to 195/50/R15 (from stock 185/60/R14)
Tyre choices: Michelin PP2 or Yokohama S-Drive
Alloy: League (not choosen the model yet)
Rim width - 6J

Now here comes the questions:

1. My main requirement is to reduce tyre noise (which is very high from the Goodyear I have now) and better looks. I do not want to compromise much on ride and fuel efficiency. Also I would like to see braking improved (will wider tyres help here??). Please let me know if my choice of tyre size above will be ok for these?
2. Michelin PP2 or Yokohama S-Drive: Which is better?
3. I guess the stock offset for Aveo is 42? Can anyone confirm this
4. When I choose alloys what offset should I go for?
5. My stock goodyears have run for 7K but in good condition. How much can I expect for the 4 tyres plus 1 spare tyre which is unused?
6. Is Sai Iyenger the best dealer in Bangalore?
7. Who has the best collection of alloys in Bangalore? Is it better to do tyre/alloy from the same dealer or different?

Sorry for too many questions....

Thanks in advance

185/60-14 Michelin PP2 would also be a good option..

I plan to do a plus one upsize. Do you feel I should stick to 14''?

Also, anyone has answers for my previous posts? I plan to get this done over the coming long weekend. Any help would be appreciated.

Aveo's has great ride quality and it is also not undertyred IMO. Hence i suggested u to stick with the stock size.

The only option is tyre shops. If you're in Delhi (as your status goes) check with BK Tyres as occasionally they do have OE Alloys (removed from brand new cars) with them.
