Ideal width for 255 section is 7J, so make sure that you don't get anything narrower than 6.5J while 7J remains preferred.

Width of the rim would be mentioned on the back side of the alloy.

Sunny - Like KP said, it's stamped on the rear part of the alloy. There should be something written like 6JX16 or something to that effect.

was wondering what should be the correct air pressure in the above tyres.
Currently I am maintaining 32 in the front and 35 in the rear Tyres.

Secondly after changing the tyres I did not get the tyre balancing done. The sales man told me as they are alloys the balancing is not required. Is this correct or I should get the balancing done. Also how much should balancing cost.
Please advise

this a little high I think.
I paid 1K for change from stock Bridgestone to Kuhmo "ECSTA STX" 255/65/ R 16
i.e. 5K for the tires and 16K for the OEM VX alloys

normally all new tryes are fitted and balanced just to make sure everything is perfect.

the cost to balance new tyres should not be more than 150-200 as they wont require much weights.

so get them done,it wont hurt

also do the tyre rotation as per the manual
(where stepney goes to driver side front,
driver side front goes to driver rear
and driver side rear goes to stepney
and passenger side tyres interchanged)

to increase the tyre life.

That is what you get everywhere. May be +/- 100. I think you can go with it.

This deal looks good.

From what I remember, Godfather paid about 3k/tyre for the exchange. What tyres are you getting? He has Dynamic RA03.

Do the tyres contact the bumper or mud guard when you take a full turn? My front tyres seem to be very close to the mud flaps, I wonder if i would be able to get up sized footwear?
