Now, is this rate high? And which model is this Yoko? If this is high, I can get tyres couried from other states cheaper and without tax issues? I happen to hate the dealer coz of their attitute and hence looking for more options.
Mostly i have seen only Yoko ATS and its a highway robbery if the dealer is asking for 7k per tyre.

stay away from him, in 7k you can buy Michelin LTX.

but considering your highway use and at the rate you are munching the miles i would suggest BF Goodrich or Yokohama ATS

But why you want to Upsize and i am not even sure whether 255/65/16 available with all companies.

Go and check with other car dealers in vicinity too

If Yoko is 6950, it is daylight robbery! I'll happily sell it to you for 6.5k including shipping!!! :

It should be around 6.1-6.2k

I was thinking about the Michellins!!!

6.5J not recommended for 255/65; 6.5J = 235/70 ONLY

Some PMs and more searched and gyan => 235/70 suits 6.5J ;

Its NOT advisable to get 255/65 on 6.5J alloys.

So, in talk with dealers and TBHPians to source 235/70 Yoko ATS.

Stick to the stock size, with 255s on stock rims you would float around the corner.
Had one scary experience in the zen, the truck should be scarier.

Hey!
I've booked a Tata Safari VX 4x4 and will be getting delivery by the end of September.
I'm thinking on upgrading the wheels the very day I get the delivery. Am thinking of 17" rims and all terrain tyres.
How is the report of the Michelin ltx a/t2 all terrain tyres?According to the website they are only available for 16" rims while the On Road type tyres are available upto 20". I'm curious whether 16" is a limitation on OTR tyres.
Any suggestions for a better all terrain tyre than the above mentioned?

Thanks.

Dont bother upsizing to 17". It is quite useless frankly. Get Michelin or Yoko Geolandars in 235/70 R16 itself. If you simply HAVE to have wider tyres, then go in for 255/65 R16 but you need 7j alloy wheels for that.
