Sorry for the confusion. Have put latitude cross and not LTX. Went ahead with the stock size.

Got Wanderer in the end. Was long pending and a puncture today got me worried.

Paid 6600/tyre.

My Safari too needs a change, the Michelins have done 75k kms so far and still look good for another 8-10k at least, but it's the age factor that's making me apprehensive, JKD, what other tyres did you consider and what were the factors you looked at while deciding on MRFs?

Yokos was the default choice BUT the only big dealer here is a rogue. Rest will quote more and with the Yoko soft wall issue and burst, I thought I will try this. I also wanted to try a wider looking tyre and Wanderer does that as per Condor's find.

I dont do off roading and hence this looked ok to me ( mostly good roads/highway ride).

re: Tata Safari : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

After going through the thread and looking for many reviews, I got Continental Cross Contact AT for my Truck today. 7750 (Tubeless) for each Tyre. I got 500 for my existing tyres, they were tube type "Apollo Hakz". Got puncture repair kit, 2 extra valves, a laptop bag as freebee. Will post the pictures soon

I saw your post in the other thread. Any reason why bought only 2 tyres?
And how many miles on the old ones before changing?

re: Tata Safari : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

Unable to find posts/thread regarding my query so asking. Is it possible to fit 17inch wheel rims into the Safari, without any cutting/modifications? I see a big gap between the wheel arches and the wheels in my Safari, which is shod with company fitted 16inch alloys.

Looks nice and wide.

As per knowledge imparted by various Tyre Dealers most "Indian Tyres" require higher wts for the balancing and the "Imported Foreign Brands" require lesser wts. There is of course also a category of "foreign brand local manufacture" like the Bridgestone duellers that lie somewhere between the two.

That was one reason that I had avoided Wanderer for the Safari previously and gone in for Michelin last time. (Though I loved the look of the Wanderer) The Bridgestone Duellers were somewhere in between in terms of wts when I installed them. Yep the Alloys themselves too contribute to the wt. imbalance by default but, this question is specific to the tyres.

So coming to the pt. How much wt. did the Wanderer require per tyre on an average?

Am not 100% sure of the above view but have experienced it more or less in the various tyres tried over the years over various cars.

I'd vote for Michelin Latitude Cross as the most comfortable tyre currently
The Yokohama Geolandar AT gets my vote for the most VFM tyre.

My vote goes to Michellin latitude cross. Been using it for the last 4 months on my storme. Great comfort and fantastic handling.

re: Tata Safari : Tyre & wheel upgrade thread

In Bangalore the Latitude Cross sells for approximately 8k and the Geolandars cost approximately 7k plus.
