Not all Hankooks are bad and not all Bridgestones and Michelins are good. Every brand has different products with varying compounds.

It would be wrong to buy a tyre just by Brand.

Truck came back clean and happy after the service:
1. Engine oil has been changed.
2. Dashboard was making a minor noise, which is fixed.
3. Steering column grease had dried (don't know how it happened). It has been re-lubricated and the steering feels much better.
4. Awesome quality of car-wash and car was ready on the promised time.

Got a follow up call from the workshop asking for feedback. At the end they requested that I rate their workshop well when I recieve a service feedback call from Tata. Hehehehe

yes, its better u try out 255/65, that would be appropriate. Also it depends on the type of alloys, if you are planning for them to. In some cases there won't be any modding to be done, but in my case i had to cut some part of the mud flaps and also the inside portion of front bumper...

changed my beasts tyres.
From EX's Stock Bridgestone (new) 235/ 70/ R 16 to Kuhmo 255/ 65/ R 16.
Traded the old rims too in lieu of brand new alloys the one that come in the VX model.
for the whole thing paid 21K

Is there any differnce in driving after the change (handling, breaking). Does it makes any differnce in Power steering. (Someone said to me, broader tyres makes PS a little hard)

No I haven't felt the slightest bit of difference as I have not put broader alloys.
I have put alloys that are provided as OEM equipment on the VX. The car has become a little lighter though. and I think they(the alloys) are as wide as the stock rims (6.5")
So and increase of 20mm (2cm) should hardly make a difference.

Need Help in Finalizing new Shoes for my Beast

Guys,

Got quote from two different dealers in B'lore

Place A:

Exchange price for Apollo Hawkz: Rs. 3,600 each

Recommenced Tubeless Michelin LATITUDE TOUR HP OE Size 235/70 R16 3900 per tire

Place B:

Exchange price for Apollo Hawkz: ????
Tubeless Michelin LATITUDE TOUR HP - 3400 (Stock Size)
Tubeless Michelin LATITUDE TOUR HP - 4850 ( for 255)

Also, as I was looking for switching to Alloy wheels, the Place B seems to have a OE Aura Stock Alloys of Safari Dicor which has run about 7 to 8 thousand KMS) is it wroth picking? if yes, is it worth paying 12,500?

Please help, I need to change this week itself at any cost

i donno about the tyre price, but with another 7,500 you can get brand new alloys and also you will have choice on the design.

I think option B is good as far as he buys the stock on a similar price. Basically u have to see whats the exchange price diff.

And I would say go for a brand new alloys. It will cost 6-8 K more.

What Brand of Alloys you guys suggest and what size? why I am asking this is if I upsize my tires to 255 instead of 235, do I need to change the size of Alloys as well, if yes from 6J to ??? (what) or the 255 will fit on 6J itself. please help

For 255 the stock alloys will be Okay. Its a 6.5J for safari dicor onwards.
However the best size would be 7J i think but that might need some cutting and trimming of rubber parts.

For size greater than 255 u definately needs wider rims.
