Pl. have a look at Std. (215/75/R15) Michelin Latitude Cross Tubeless. It's a combination of both offroad and onroad design/pattern and moreover looks good on a Bolero! The cost is Rs.5000 each in Chennai. If you are serious of upsizing you can go in for 235/70 R15. This will cost you around Rs.7500 each.

these tyres are good, there are good set of rubber in yoko's to in the 225 range and cost 5k each

I too would suggest 225. People with 235/70/R15 do complain about the rear wheel scrapping the body when travelling fully loaded.

yes that is going to be to wide an upgrade... ideal last size is 245/60/15 anything abt that is gonna be asking for aleration and modifications.....

i couldnt find good tires in the 255 size so i went ahead and took the risk of buying 275/60/15.
i then found it impossible to find a smart set of alloys in the 15"inch size-(seems that dealers no longer stock new 15" rims in 160 pcd).
lost patience and fitted them on my original steel rims. fortunately this size as warned by many tbhp members do not foul with body panels and suspension,nor have i seen any drop in fuel efficiency.

It's fortunate you sticked on to 15" Rim, without going for 16". By calculation, the difference in diameter will be only a few millimeters between 215/75, the stock size and 275/60, your selection! Now it is only the width that matters. You have used the stock rims which does not have any positive or negative offset like alloys, hence there will be no undue protrusion, either inside or outside, except for 30 mm. either side. Enjoy your ride!

I did not really calculate, but to my eyes there is a bulge there, and that is because the steel rim is a little too small, you would have to opt for alloys with a wider... what do I say \_/ where the tyre stays, its usually measure in 'J', 6J, 6.5J.



The bulge will weaken the walls of you tyre and it will lose it integrity very soon.

My suggestion, even if you go for used alloys, buy one with the correct width, that suits your tyre. Balance the wheel correctly, and then drive around till you find an alloy of your choice.

your right spinner the rims ARE a bit too narrow-6"
these tires need 7.5 or 8 inch width rims. i have already paid for ordered new alloy wheels from delhi and the wheels should be here by this weekend.

thanks jgsolo, i think by the looks of it, the stock bolero rims are of positive offset type.
the rims i've ordered are zero offset, i hope it does not push the tyres out too much,since that looks real wierd thanks to the excessive front track with as copared to the rear track(2 inches either side)

Looks Great! I am sure you could feel the difference in the ride quality, between the steel and the alloy.

oh sure,the steering does feel much lighter and the ride smoother. the previous owner sold me the car with the original tires - dueler 215 and it had clocked 49500kms on the same!
you may find this hard to believe but while purchasing this car, one of the questions i asked him were, when had last got the wheels aligned and he simply replied that -" this type of vehicle is very tough and DOES NOT EVER NEED WHEEL ALIGNMENT " & that " wheel alignment is just another way for tire dealers to make some money of you"
