I am not very satisfied with the MXV8 I presently have (195/65R15).
I am planning to go in for either PP2 205/60R15 or the new Michelin LC 205/65R15 during my next upgrade. (both are different from stock sizes).

The PP2 decreases ground clearance, while LC increases it.
So take your pick!

What is the max that the stock alloys can accomodate 215/xxx R15?

Next will such thing affect the suspension? Power etc. Odo error is something we can live with.

You can put 215/60-15 on the stock alloys. Beyond that the rim width will be pushing it.

I have seen only yoko AVS-ES100 in that size so far.

215/60 doesn't increase GC much, so is it better to go with 205/65?

Dear All, I'm posting this request again to all the users of 205/65 R 15 on Civic. Have there been any instances of Suspension problems, Wheel Well fouling or any other issues? I need this response as I need to change the tyres quickly. Thank you for your time.

Go ahead 205/65/15 is very close to stock diameter and there will not be any issues.

I am looking for either 205/65/15 or 215/60/15 in Mechelin PP2 or Yokohama S Drive, but unfortunately none are available.

I am not sure if I want to go for 205/60/15, as Stock civic tyre is already on lower side in India.

@ST7677: when are you planning to change your tyres? I am also planning to change asap. Can we do it together and see if we get a decent bargain? Any shops that you know?

I am looking for new set of tyres for my civic 1.8AT as well. I called up millivision in bangalore (as I had a good experience while changing my accent tyres. He gave a good deal)

These are the prices he quoted

195/65/15 (this is the stock size)
YO 3900

205/65/15 (this is what i am looking at)
GoodYear 3700
Indian Bridgestone 4500
Michelin 5100
YO (A drive) 4200
CO (Continental premium contact) 4800

Note: Govind who owns the place recommends either Michelin/Yokohama or the conti tyres

Current set were stock 195/65/r15 bstones. They had done 26K KMs on them. The rear wheels were so bad that the treads were completely worn off, there were flat spots where the steel radial was coming out and hitting the road. Oh. My stock Goodyear is still running strong at 36K. Hence I was curious.

How does the 205/65 improve the GC. Is it noticeable?

I dont have "before" pics but I can put some "after" pics

. Let me get to it later this week. Looks like the stock bstones are useless. Also note that most of the driving has been on highways (bad ones like blr-mlr blr-goa blr-kodai)

That'd be Nice. Hows your perception of the ground clearance now with this change?

You are right. Currently its only a perception. I think its better. I am certainly more comfortable going over bangalore bumps

Hey that sounds like a good deal. Can you send me the contact no. and person. Does he know you? Just helps to say so and so in his civic just changed his tyres kind of stuff.

Does he have 215/60/15? Anyways if you can send me the details it would be great.
