Or else play around with the pressure a bit. If you find the ride bouncy decrease it by 2 psi & see and vice-versa if you find the car feels a bit heavy (especially the steering).

Technically if you have changed from 205/55 R16 to 215/55 R16 the pressure should be reduced a bit from OE recommended pressure.
The rason for above reduction in pressure is: now you have tyres with bigger volume to accomodate air inside.

Talking about high speed highway driving :
in such case always better to overinflate your tyres by 3-5 psi.
In high speed highway driving tyres do not get enough time to spring back to normal shape (deformation casued at the point of road contact) such condition leads to excess heat generation(in such condition tyres do not perform to the optimum level of performance).

itzzme - but ive always found that if you increase your pressure by that much then the ride gets very bouncy.

In this case of high speed highway driving safety is more important than anything else. This overinflation avoids overheating and failures related to it.

I feel 30psi - front , 29psi - rear , in city should be good , whereas , highway driving 32psi - front 31psi - rear should be ideal ? ? ?
what say ?

One of the latest launches by Bridgestone, but not homologated for India.

Why do you need to chenge the STOCK ones .. Turanzas itself provide you a great ride comfort.

comfort/soft ride yes. but road noise could be lower. i was told Michelin Primacy Pilot are quieter than OEM. maybe i will buy these when my next tire change is due. not worth changing now - the OEM ones are alright.

Correct tire pressure makes *HUGE* difference in terms of comfort and noise. First thing to check after getting the vehicle from the dealer!

The factory fitted Bridgestone Turanza (205/55-16) front-left tyre on my Laura developed a sidewall crack + small rupture after 9800KM. Asked TAFE Bangalore to replace it under warranty. They started the "process" by sending a photo of the damage to Skoda and said will take two weeks time and I am afraid it will take longer than that. But I suspect this type of damage wont be covered under warranty and I have decided to forget about warranty and instead use this as an opportunity to do some shopping. Here are my options. Please post your recommendations:

1. Replace the damaged tyre alone with the same make/spec. Since my spare tyre is brand new (and same spec) I will effectively have a pair of new tyres.

2. Get 5 new tyres. Requirements: Safety (grip, handling), Comfort (avg will do), decent longevity. Michelin Pilot Preceda (PP2) is what I am considering.

3. What is the approximate budget for "pimp my ride" option: 17" alloys (18" is bad?) + matching PP2 tyres?

I am leaning towards option#1 and option#3.

I had got my Tyre replaced(for free) @ JMD Skoda when my Tyre had developed a SIDE WALL AIR BUBBLE ... got passed as a manufacturing DEFECT of the Tyre

not Sure what will the case be in case of a SIDE WALL CRACK.
But the procedure took about 2 weeks .
