hi PJ thank you for your input. i did go through your site but the RX wheels also show 17" and 18". the RX 2 also shows 18" and 19" but there is no mention of 16" anywhere. the design looks the same as the CH design so i would like to know what is the difference. i am a complete layman when it comes to rims, just go by it suiting the car.
i also wanted to know what the cost and availability at four seasons of the same would be possible or could i get them directly from you? i am currently looking out for the original period BBS wheels that came with the model just like my BMW. if you do know of any set that are around please do let me know. apprriciate it thank you.

Gordon thank you for the picture.

ok guys i have found these wheels. the guy at the shop told my father he has 16" alloys in this design. now any suggestions for the tyres. i dont want to go bellow a 60 or 65 profile. i would be finaliseing it the next time i am in bombay and make sure he has the right size and not trying to fool my father by calling 17", 16" to make a sale.

in 16" i dont think youll get too many tyre options over here. what is the tyre size though? someone mentioned that it is 175/80 r14? if thats so then 195/60 r16 or 205/55 r16 will be fine.

the size would be 195's as i feel the 205 would touch inside. i wanted to know more of the tyre manufactures like bridgestone, goodyear etc. i would let the experts (ishan tyrewalla) decide this . i hope to close this by the 15th and get the alloys fitted on the car. the rest of the work can go on at its pace.

205/55 - 16 Yokohama S drives.
I think those 16" rims would be too wide for 195 tyre.

Hmmm.... very limited options then. If 205's can fit, then I would advise you to go for 205/55 R16. Decent tyres are available in that size.

the tyres on the car right now are 185/75/R14 ishan. what are the options if the alloys turn out to be 17".

@ Kp i dont want to go too low on the profiles so 60 or 65 maximum but if i have no choice i would not mind it.

You won't have a choice of having 60 profile tyres if u are upsizing to 16" or more.
If the alloys turn out to be 17" then the profile would become even lesser than 55.

In 17" the only options are (keeping in mind stiock size as 175/80 R14):

195/55 R17
205/50 R17

But I don't think you'll find either size.

yes that is what i said 60/65 profiles are ok with me. will i be able to get 60 profiles with 17" alloys. atleast a remote possibility?

these are other alloys that the mercedes guys said they could manage for me. these are 17", 205/50/17.
