what difference one can feel in terms of ride/handling/braking and FE between
Yokohama Aspec 300 and Michelin XM1. which one will be better on STEEL rims in case if i could not opt ALLOY.

Yokohama A 300 would cost lesser than XM1.

Yokohama A300 is silica based tyre whereas the XM1 is non silica so the A300 will have better braking and FE.

Goodear gps2! I still have them lying with me, the dealer was offering rs.1200 only for tyres+rims
Somehow i like the pickup of car with them , they still have tread to run 10000 km.Will keep them for city driving & michelin for highways

IMO, stay away from 155/70R12.
I used 155/70R12 for about 29000km.
Had to spend on the suspension, strut dampers & now i'll be changing the wheel bearings too as i do not want to ruin michelins.

Since your highway travel is not much, stick to 145/80R12,
12" rim provides smoother pickup required for city travel.
You can choose between two bridgestones: S248 (tube type) OR ER60 turanza (tubeless)

Yes, Turanza ER60 is available in 145/80-12

when i went and enquired about the pricing for MICHELIN XM1( quoted 2150 from one dealer & as usual LAL quoted higher -Rs 2290)

one dealers is not that much in support for MICHELIN XM1
He strongly suggested 2 things .
1) no need to go for foreign tyres as the Indian ones are really good and
effective for our climatic temperature
2) For a car like ZEN it is better to go for 12" rather than 13"

Dealer suggested these two options one from indian OE & another pirelli.

APPOLO XL 155/70/12 TUBELESS Rs 1525/-
PIRELLI 165/70/12 TUBELESS Rs 2150 /-

I also got Apollo Accelera 155/65/13 in case if i need 13. price is 1875
any suggestion / opinion are welcome & appreciated .TIA

For city driving 12" tyre would be best for a Zen..
If u drive on highways mostly then 13" would give u all the fun..

You will need 5.5J rims to fit 165/70/12 & that will foul with the wheel arches too.
