Prajesh, 24psi is for tube type.

For TURANZAs 28 -30 psi shud be ideal!

BTW, a Bridgestone authorised dealer in Ashok Vihar had quoted Rs. 1700 per tire about a month back !

Amtak is talking about 28psi in his stock tyres.i.e 145/80/12. tube. Thats too high. 24psi is best for the stock tyres.

Is it so? My car is running at this tire pressure from day 1!!! its been about 3 years now and 35K kilometers with a fuel economy of 14-18 kmpl (100% ac). isn't this what even the air pumps fill in? Ever seen the recommended tire pressure at the HP/BP air pump outlets, it reads 28!!

PS: Any bridgestone dealers in and around dahisar/Borivali in Mumbai?

carb zen used to have the recomendations of 30 psi but the mpfi zen has 24 psi recomended.

Man, I never knew i need to have 24psi in Zen Lxi[2005 model]. Infact, i dont say anything to the guy who fills air in Station and he always by default puts 30psi :(

If the turanzas are of stock size then the recommended tire pressure will remain the same because there's no change in volume.

Check factory recommendation on the drivers door frame. Was using 26psi for quite sometime. But the ride was on the bumpy side.
Carb zen had 13" rims.

the guys at the filling station doesnt have the knowledge that card zen had 13" and it needs to be filled 30 psi and mpfi zen needs 24 psi (all stock)

so everytime i go to get air filled,i have to tell them explicitly 24 psi

and if you are using stock setup then its always recomended to go by what your car manufacturer is saying i.e (written on door sticker)

I have seen those! But with that pressure, the tires look as good as flat! Anyhow, will try to maintain a pressure of 24 psi and lets hope i also get some more fuel efficiency!

Alright the volume might be same ( except for presence of tube), but it has direct relationship with Zen's suspension setup ( 116 mm side wall gets reduced due to lower pressure, hence good ride comfort!)

For the same tire in Alto, recommended pressure is 30psi

That means if the stock tires are changed to ones having lesser side walls (eg. 100.75mm in 155/65/13), & with higher air pressure say 28-30psi
Zen's suspension is going to take goodbeating ,

whereas Alto would be somewhat less affected by the same change!

BTW, what pressure do you recommend for my tires, i am not selling my car now & will keep it forever!

Sidewall will remain the same 116mm. With 24 psi the sidewall flex would be better and hence good ride quality.

AFAIK Alto and Zen doesn't have same suspension setup.

When fitted on car, the sidewall flexes!
I mean, lesser pressure lesser sidewall and vice-versa!

optimum or recommended pressure = good sidewall flex(Good ride comfort) = good for suspension

Excessive tire pressure = lesser sidewall flex (bouncy ride) = not good for suspension

In this case (zero psi ) Sidewall of the tyre would remain the same 116 mm(it doesn't vanish right?)but the sidewall hieght would be zero. I hope this is what u meant.
