Well not with Ikon, I'd similar experience with my WagonR in 2007 on Chennai-Trichy when there was road construction going on+unplanned trip+night drive lead to bend my rims slightly & punctured my tubes; so I took the rims to a local guy (trust me I didn't even know there're authorized shops then) & he did a good job with hammer & till date its working fine on my car.

after i got d shockers checked at d service centre, i was told that all the 4 rims are little bent. Could that be the reason for vibrating at high speeds???

Earlier, I thought the engine is 1.3 so it is not taking the load properly, but that is impossible b'coz i've seen Maruti 800 running at 120-140 kmph.

P.S - Currently, my ikon has Good Year GPS2 175/70R13 and I'm planning to upgrade to Michelin Energy XM1+ 185/65R14 along with 14" Alloys.

Please help, what could be the problem?
Yeah, steel rims live around 80k in our road conditions.
You could go ahead and move to alloys.
Either stick to 13" and get 175/70/R13
Or upsize to 14" and use 175/65/R14 or 185/60/R14

But the michelin website shows Michelin Energy XM1+ 185/65R14 and they dont seem to manufacture 185/60/R14. What is the difference between both BTW?
Also, my plan is to get tubeless michelins along with new rims (alloys) + nitrogen filled in. Is it a good option? Will cabin noise reduce by upgrading to 14"? Also, the Michelin dealer is offering PLATINUM or something PLATI brand alloys, are they the best ones?

If you are having a floating sensation while driving the car, then it may not be the bent rims. while doing the wheel alignment, there is a nut down there which keeps the car from floating around. also, the floating sensation can be caused if the lower arm bushese are worn out. This is my take on the situation, i can be wrong as well.

guys, I did not intend to spend much on tyres so went ahead and bought 13" League alloys wheels for my 1.3 ikon. I tried the car till 140kmph and voila! there was no vibration! but another problem has come up i.e the cabin noise has increased too much. Please help me out regarding this!!

@thrope - Pls provide the tyre details or if possible, get a picture of all the writings on the side walls of the tyre & additionally provide the picture of the tread pattern. I'm sure you would've had a look at this thread.

The increased cabin noise could be the resultant of the new tyres on your car. Which brand of tyres did you install?

No, I have not bought new tyres. I got the rims installed in old tyres. Old tyres are 13" Good Year GPS2 175/70R13.

This noise is killing me!

Goodyears are noisy.
Solutions:
1. Buy new tyres like the Michelin XM1+
2. Listen to music at a louder volume.

PS: Are you obsessive compulsive?
