Wheel Balancing for my Santro 2001

Hi,

I have a santro 2001 make. purchased second hand from First Choice (formerly Automart India). I have changed suspensions of car just two months back.

I still feel vibrations when car goes thru potholes, although the it is not that hard as compered to earlier, still I am amazed to feel the smoothness in other's cars which are even older than mine.

I am note sure if earlier owner done wheel balancing or now.

Please advice if wheel balancing would be required to ensure smooth ride.

Also please let me know any good shop in Mumbai to get this done. Thank you.

Where did you get the Suspension done? What all was changed?

Check if your tyres are over flated.

Wheel balancing needs to be done to ensure the wheels travel in the reight direction. Get it done if your vehicle pulls to either sides while braking or going straght.

I guess someone from Mumbai will be able to help you with this.

If you get steering wheel vibrations at high speed, then balancing needs to be done. Not sure about vibrations on potholes.

The Santro ride is not good on bad roads.

I do allignement/ balancing/ rotation every 5000 kms and it helps to keep the suspension in good condition and increase tire life.

hello,

I am not getting vibrations at high speeds. Its only when I start car and put in 1st gear, then slowly release clutch, then car vibrates a bit (I guess thats normal) for approx 10 seconds and once I press acc, all fine. NO vibrations.

However, when car passes thru any pothole, one can feel the bump depending on the size. I dont think its suspension problem as I recently got it replaced. Many have adviced to get balancing done as it smoothens the car ride to an great extent.

Your suggestions please....
